It was first developed in Japan at least 35 years ago , but , they said it was not 3D as we know it. More the illusion of depth. Now , SOMEBODY has real 3D TV , but , I've never seen it. Of course , they developed 3D TV in Black and White in the 80's using the same red and blue process , with the glasses , as in the 50's. I remember Elvira showing several 3D Horror films , and some cable stations showing 3D movies , but , as I recall , only some were effective. I saw "Bwana Devil" , which is in color , on TV , the 3D effect SUCKED. Some of the ones Rhino did on VHS were also lousy , BUT , if you want to see some amazing 3D on your TV , look for "The Mask" on Rhino , I think they later did it in DVD form , too. Really insane "Trip" sequences , like "Altered States" , many years later , but in the best 3D I've seen on Television......But I understand there is such thing as the 3D TV set , which , if you're a "Honeymooners " fan , means Ralph Kramden can go o... less
