FUTURE PRIMITIVES - SONGS WE TAUGHT OURSELVES
While working on this exclusive edition of 'Songs We Taught Ourselves', Casbah & Dangerhouse Skylab suggested to The Future Primitives that they try a different cover artwork. The answer was clear. No man, we want to keep the DIY and the reference to the child-like aspect of the first album discoveries. And indeed, here is what The Future Primitives have to offer with this album, that until now was only available on bandcamp: a tribute to these early years, as the obscure tracks of Captain Beefheart, The Mummies, Link Wray, The Haunted, The Milkshakes slapped them in the face. Something obvious, faithful. On 'Songs We Taught Ourselves', the trio from Cape Town shouts loud and clear their fascination for the music that comes from the guts, with a staggering easiness. 'Songs We Taught Ourselves' carves the Future Primitives' touch, and shoots at point blank range the fury that some unknown heros have been willing to inflict to their decades contemporaries... Limited to 500 copies including download card. Tracks: 01 1-2-5 (The Haunted) 02 Israeli Blues (Index) 03 Do The Ostrich (The Primitives) 04 Scream (The Chancellors) 05 Everybody Up (The Fender V) 06 Tell Me Where's That Girl (The Milkshakes) 07 Zig Zag Wanderer (Captain Beefheart) 08 Rumble (Link Wray) 09 We Sell Soul (The Spades) 10 She's Mine (The Children Of Darkness) 11 Love At Psychedelic Velocity (The Human Expression) 12 The Fly (The Mummies) 13 Have You Been To Mars? (The Bo-Weevils).

With WARM SODA serving as his backing band, NYC's JOEY GENOVESE digs up two nuggets of fuzzy lo-fi garage glam pop candy for your sweet tooth.
CATHOLIC SPRAY/ASSASINS88/TV COLOURS - SPLIT 7"
At times CATHOLIC SPRAY is as savage as a charging T.Rex and as doomed as a dying succubus, but they always keep their Jack the Ripper lancet sharp fuzz guitar sound at hand. Nonetheless, it is challenging to try and recite the composing elements of such a sound nebula. From bad KFC lunch memory fueled balads to the wailing laments of a disarrayed gallant, these four boys surf on grimy waters. ASSASSINS88/TV COLOURS is one part noise, two parts punk, and one part pop. Assassins88 and TV Colours come from Canberra, Australia. The meeting of these two bands is as much of a kickass gutterpunk noise band as it stands for gloriously nostalgic pop punk. Limited edition of 500.
CHINESE BURNS - NOT MY GIRL
CHINESE BURNS formed in Melbourne in 2008, played around the inner north for a year and then broke up. After their four song 'Can Dig' 45rpm received a glowing review on Terminal Boredom they sold the rest of their pressing and started playing again. Australian import.
CURED PINK - CURED PINK
One foot industrially arcane and the other reductionist pop, the band's first single release follows numerous shortrun releases of spasmodic fruit, void field recordings and the law. Australian import.
EASTLINK - WILD DOG/BLOOD MONEY
AL UV drums and sings while either three or four other guys play guitar. Two songs for this 7-inch were taken from their 2011 cassette and remastered for this vinyl release. This seven-inch predates the band's 2013 full length on In The Red. Australian import.
HAPPY TIMES - GROSS REGISTRABLE TONNAGE
Australian import. The debut 7-inch by HAPPY TIMES, the Brisbane band featuring members of BOONDALL BOYS, EAST LASER SCUMBAG!, THE DANGERMEN and THE HYMIES. (Don't dare to admit you don't known these legendary names!) Due to the blistering guitars, the underwater explosions caused by Happy Times mostly remind of The Hymies.
ICH BIN EIN ESEL - HOLY GRAIL
ICH BIN EIN ESEL sound like they were birthed in a tin shed on a Brisbane back-block and beaten around the head in their juvenile years with something heavy and blunt. Now fully grown and with knuckles dragging in the dirt, they exact their revenge by attacking the material (and your ears) relentlessly with a raw ferocity and swinging looseness. Australian import.
KITCHEN'S FLOOR - DEADSHITS
Recorded using an old guitar, few parts of a drum kit and plenty of beer. These songs would go on to be re-recorded for 'Loneliness Is A Dirty Mattress' and 'Live In Brisbane', but what you hear here are the original and arguably best renditions. Remastered for wax and posterity, and also for your audiophiliac enjoyment! Australian import.
LAME DRIVERS - FLEXI BOOK EP (5X7")
The Flexi-Book is a book that you can play on your turntable, featuring 7 songs on five flexi discs, plus 12 pages of original artwork by visual artists MAYUKO FUJINO, SARAH HOTCHKISS, KEENAN MARSHALL KELLER, CAROLINE TEAGLE and UMMAN TURKOGLU. Two of the songs ('Other Side' and 'Frozen Egg') were recorded by MATT TONG (Bloc Party's drummer) at his basement in Bed-Stuy. The Flexi-Book format is inspired by a National Geographic guide to bird sounds, and it sounds and looks fantastic.

AUNT NELLY - SHADES OF ORANGE
These shades may be orange, but this release offers a Golden Shower of hits that has yet to be matched. AUNT NELLY consists of members of the legendary UK band THE CLIQUE and other musicians from the Medway Scene (f.i. Bresslaws and Effectives). Fans of '60s (and '60s inspired) mod, r&b, beat, soul and power pop will love this album that includes originals as well as twisted covers of the Stones' 'Satisfaction' (sounding more like the Devo-version) and the Jimi Hendrix-classic 'Purple Haze'.
BASSHOLES - BOOGIEMAN STEW
The Bassholes seem to change with the world at large, getting stranger and meaner, as the environment dictates. A two-headed monster, evolving in the fallout, into a mutant beast screeching and echoing the cacophony of western life in the year after the world was supposed to end. It's been 13 years since their debut and the Bassholes are definitely weirder and more dangerous than ever. Edition of 500 copies!
BLACK TIME - BLACKOUT
Limited edition vinyl reissue. Out of print for nearly a decade, this is the album that introduced the world to Black Time's dangerous brand of garage art-punk. ERICKSON, ROKY - EVIL ONE (2LP)
Double-LP. Three sides of music and an etching on Side 4. Also includes a 20-page booklet and download card for the full album. LP version with 8-page booklet, download card for the full album and a 7"-single containing tracks 13-16 from the CD. CHUNK, SUZI - LOOK BACK AND LAUGH/TRIPWIRE
Limited edition of 500 copies pressed on TRANSLUCENT RED VINYL The debut single from Suzi Chunk finds the Cardiff-based, Teesside-born "singist" a long way from home and in full pelt on these Kravin As underground R&B classics; two gems penned by GROOVY UNCLE Medway tunesmith Glenn Prangnell (way back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth) and originally included on an almost forgotten 1991 album "Krave On!" Suzi's vocal style and performance on this 45 adds a fresh attitude and soulful quality to the tunes which, combined with the driving beat and insanely catchy riffs from her backing group, will leave you gasping for more!
GROOVY UNCLE - MONKEY TROUSERS/NOW YOUR PAIN IS..
The debut release from Medway-based Groovy Uncle. The band comprises Glenn Prangnell, Ben Jones, Paul Moss and Ian Snowball. Originally a solo project for former Kravin' A songwriter Glenn, over the last few years Groovy Uncle has developed into a real, live, grown-up band! Members come and go but the spirit remains - upbeat, melodic, quirky rock'n'roll. Influences are worn unashamedly on sleeves: The Beatles, The Kinks, The Pretty Things - the usual suspects. But it's NEW! And it's HERE! And there's plenty more where this came from. I urge you to buy it!
LAZY SUNDAYS - DION SIRE'S GAME
Sixties psychedelic Hammond taking their influences from The Small Faces amongst others.
LYKES OF YEW - MR. WEDNESDAY/PARIS HEIGHTS
Formed in the Folkestone area in the South East of England in the Autumn of 2007, The Lykes Of Yew have already caused quite a stir with their twisted blues and punked folk rock, building up a strong local fan base and performing regularly across the South of England for the last 2 years. Originally a duo taking a lead from the English Folk & Blues artists of the 60s, theyve morphed into a gritty rock n roll band, with a big stage presence and a raw, earthy sound. Their debut single for State Records features a driving melodic rocker "Mr Wednesday", with catchy choruses and choppy riffs sure to catch the ear. The flip side, "Paris Heights", is a sleazy blues strut, featuring dual vocals and Fender twang with a sound reminiscent of The Birthday Party jamming in a bar with Jet Harris and The Doors! The Lykes Of Yew are sure to set feet tapping and heads nodding!
MARKET SQUARES - AFTERNOON TIDE/INSIDE MY MIND

MESSIS, PAUL -& JESSICA WINTER- - SUNFLOWER/AS NIGHTMARES TURN TO...
...DREAMS. LIMITED EDITION of 500 COPIES pressed on TRANSLUCENT GREEN VINYL. "Sunflower" b/w "As Nightmares Turn To Dreams" is the hip new single which features two Messis-penned psych monsters. Light and Darkness is the essence of this release: the vibrations of Springtime on one side and Autumn on the other; a yin and yang energy which is brought to life with the addition of underground chanteuse Jessica Winter on vocals. The Hall Of Mirrors songstress adds an ethereal air of grace to Messis' songwriting and this combined with the songs and sound makes for the realisation of the only psychedelic single this year!

WHITE STRIPES - THE BIG THREE KILLED MY BABY
Reissue of the only single off the White Stripes self-titled debut album. The A-side is Jack White's tempered screed against the monopoly of American auto companies against the accented thud of Meg's pounding drums. The B-side 'Red bowling ball Ruth' is exclusive to this single and overflows with AC/DC-inspired rock riffs. Remastered direct from the original analog masters!
CHUNK, SUZI -& GROOVY UNCLE- - GIRL FROM THE NECK DOWN
Limited edition of 500 copies on 180gram vinyl, in authentic front-laminated flipback sleeve. Artwork [and guitar] by the legendary Bruce Brand! In these times of homogenised, reconstituted, pick'n'mix pop celebrity culture, where stylists, management teams and focus groups work hard to ensure that puddings are over egged, under cooked and served with a sickly sweet dollop of banality, it comes as a refreshing change when presented with a platter like "Girl From The Neck Down". The long overdue debut LP from Cardiff-based "singist" Suzi Chunk is a collection of songs written by Glenn Prangnell and the brief was simple; to come up with the kind of record they don't make anymore. Four of the tracks have already seen the light of day ["For The Millionth Time" (The Offbeats), "Look Back And Laugh" (The Kravin' A's), "No Stone Unturned" and "Got Any Mantras?"(Groovy Uncle)], while the rest have been written especially with Suzi in mind. Anyone who has heard the pre-album single, "Look Back And Laugh"/"Tripwire" [fans include BBC6 Music's Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie], will instantly recognise the "beat era swagger" of backing band Groovy Uncle and the soulful beauty of Suzi's vocal work.
FLESHTONES - QUATRO X QUATRO
Recorded February 2012 while on tour in Gijon, Spain, this album includes four songs recorded in Spanish, and was co-produced by longtime friend of the band and former member of the Spanish rock sensation Dr. Explosion, Jorge Munoz-Cobo Gonzalez. Finally taking Gonzalez up on his offer to record in his studio with vintage gear, they recorded the EP with little time to spare.
GALILEO 7 - STARING AT THE SOUND
As a member of such semi-legends as the Prisoners, The Solarflares and JTQ, Allan Crockford has played an important part in establishing the Medway area's reputation as a hotbed for spirited, uncompromising garage rock with a strong DIY ethic. Playing with such Medway notables as Graham Day, Billy Childish and James Taylor, his reputation was as the reliable sideman for more flamboyant figures. After finally realising that songwriting wasn't one of the dark arts, he recruited some of Medway's least annoying musicians and formed The Galileo 7 to play some of the songs he had been storing up for a few years. The Galileo 7's sound leans in a more pop-psych direction than some of Allan's previous rougher-hewn combos. If you want a convenient (but probably misleading) label, maybe 'garage-pop' will suffice. If you demand unhelpful and inaccurate reference points before you listen to new music, think late-period Soft Boys, Dukes of Stratosphear, The Nazz and any number of bands who went a bit psych and wobbly in 67 than got back to making pop songs when the stuff had worn off a bit. This new collection covers such subjects as misanthropic tetchiness, the evils of empty consumerism, anthropomorphised mood disorders and long-dead childhood pets - all in the form of the uplifting 3 minute pop song!
GROOVY UNCLE - PLAY SOMETHING WE KNOW
Play Something We Know! from Groovy Uncle, the latest project from Medway mainstay Glenn Prangnell (Kravin "A"s, Goodchilde et al). Steeped in the Delta Beat tradition, the LP features a stellar cast of supporting musicians, including Allan Crockford (Galileo 7, Prisoners and many more), Ben Jones (Lovedays), Paul Moss (likewise), Ian Snowball (Aunt Nelly, Effectives) and the acclaimed State session players. More importantly, the 12-song set showcases a brace of damn fine songs from Glenn, rich in Beatlesque harmonies and melody, fully realised at Sandgate Sound Studios analogue 8-track recording facility. Many months of intensive sessions (interrupted only by trips to The Diamond Cafe for required sustenance) have resulted in what can only be described as a modern masterpiece - which doesnt sound at all modern, thankfully.
MAVI ISIKLAR - IYI DÜSÜN TASIN
LAST COPY! Mavi Isiklar (Blue Lights) was one of the most successful and interesting garage-beat bands of 60's Turkey. They have many sold out singles which consist of mainly folk-beat arrangements and some interesting covers of well known The Beatles, The Doors and The Cedars songs with Turkish lyrics. Limited to 500 copies on 150 gram vinyl. Tracks: Side 1: 01 Helvaci (1965) 02 Findik Dallari (1968) 03 Cayir Cimen Geze Geze (1966) 04 Ask Cicegi (1971) 05 Pinarbasi (1966) 06 Ayva Cicek Acmis (1968) 07 Giresun Kayiklari (1967) 08 Yayla Cicegi (1967) 09 Yar Saclarin Lule Lule (1967) 10 Kiz Sen Geldin Cerkesten (1967). Side 2: 01 Iyi Dusun Tasin (1968) 02 Yaramaz Ne Oldu Sana (1971) 03 Agla Cocuk Gibi (1968) 04 Gitme Kal (1970) 05 Sevgilim (1970) 06 Benim Dunyam Sensin (1969) 07 Gul Dali (1969) 08 Uskudar (1968) 09 Kanamam (1965).
MESSIS, PAUL - CASE CLOSED
'Case Closed' is the second long-play album by underground sensation Paul Messis; following the tradition of Messis' earlier works, Case Closed is the LP which confirms his place in the arena of garage punk legend. Following a slew of 45rpm singles and a critically acclaimed debut album, 'Case Closed' continues where Paul's debut left off, giving the listener an exceptional slice of reality and a deep insight into the thoughts of his generation using cleverly written prose-like lyrical meanderings and existential themes. 'Case Closed' is an outsider album-outsiders usually pinpoint societies faults with little effort whatsoever, the same applies in regards to Messis and the album you're reading about, meandering through the sounds of savage garage punker, gentle jangling folk-rock and melancholic ballads, giving the listener a wholesome and varied experience. Limited edition of 500 on 180gram vinyl in front-laminated flipback sleeve.
OFFHOOKS - OUTSIDE LOOKING IN
Outside Looking In by The Offhooks, whom some may recall as legends of the Scottish garage scene back in the late 80s/early 90s. So for all you hungry dogs who thought Off The Hook was the groups only recorded legacy, heres where things get exciting: a complete, previously unreleased album, recorded in March 1990 at Chamber Studios in Edinburgh! This is no set of demos or rehearsal tapes, this is the real deal - its original release was only scuppered by the bankruptcy of the intended label! But aside from the historical importance of this album, what about the crucial bit - the music? Rest assured - its a killer! Equal parts fuzz and jangle, pounding beat-tastic bass and drums [thats hallowed Thanes frontman, Lenny Helsing rattling the traps], topped off with classic snarled-out angst-ridden vocals courtesy of Calvin Burt.
