From the Clarkive

  • I recently retired and to support my lazy no working lifestyle I've decided to sell my massive record collection.....The cleverly named "From the Clarkive" will pay tribute to some of the cool little numbers I will be parting with

    THE BOPCATS .......KISS GOOD-BYE ep........Attic Records ........1981

One of the many rockabilly revival bands sporting the Bopcats moniker, these cats called Toronto home and released two eps and two full length lps before calling it quits in 1983.  Member Jack Dekeyzer continues to perform as a solo blues artist while Brian Setzer lookalike Teddy Fury still performs with the like minded ROYAL CROWNS.

"Kiss Good-bye is their big label debut ep, (big label for up here in Canada that is),and features the original "Kiss Goodbye" as well covers of Billy "Curley" Barrix's "Cool Off Baby" and Tiny Bradshaw by way of the Burnette Brothers, "Train Kept a Rollin".  It doesn't quite sizzle as much as their first indie release ep, but still it's a fine effort and recommended for all you greasers and teddy boysbopcats.jpeg
