So summers here and so far, I've been surveying the music landscape (read sitting at my computer listening to downloads) and here's the insight I can offer for now :
Rage Against the Machine is fairly overrated. With the exception of Down rodeo, Bullet in the head, and Know your enemy, Zach De La Rocha sounds like a poor man white boy version of Chuck D.
old tyme Emo band battle: Sunny date real estate's Diary vs. Rites of Spring's End On End.
winner: Rites of Spring- Sunny Day's lead singer sounds far too much like a Kurt Cobain/ Billy Corgan hybrid and his band just sounds like a slower, redundant version of Nirvana. Song about an Angel is a lovely song however, With Rites of Spring, the music may've been simple,but the vocals were passionate: the singer was having an emotional breakdown whereas Sunny Day had too much droaning.
