Baby Cud

  • I read the sad and disappointing news that the Psychotic Reactions Forum will come to an end so I decided to bite off a baby's head, chew the baby cud then spit this oozing mass of baby cud into a paisley patterned Victorian spittoon. Good job I had it ready.

After brushing my teeth and rinsing my mouth out with Ice-Fresh Cherry Dentyl, I signed up with Garage Punk HideOut. It will be a poor substitute for the Psychotic Reactions Forum. I've had a whole lot of fun over there for 3 years. Oh well, all good things must come to an end. Perhaps the best thing about Garage Punk HideOut is the fact that one is able to easily upload MP3s onto your own personal Juke Box. This is what I intend to do. So feel free to download the music. My Juke Box choices will not be obvious choices, nor will they be purely 60s garage or psych. That would be boring. I've got a whole lot more strings to my bow than that.

So far I've uploaded 10 songs:

    PAUL GIOVANNI - Corn Rigs

This is a haunting folk track from The Wicker Man soundtrack dating back to 1972.

NICK DRAKE - Day Is Done

My favourite Nick Drake song. It's beautiful maan.

PAUL PARRISH - You've Got To Hide Your Love Away

I mastered this LP to CD recently. This album has never been re-issued on vinyl or CD and is kinda rare. Have a listen to his interpretation of The Beatles classic.

    5 P.M - Auburn Red

When i first joined up with Garage Punk HideOut this was the only MP3 I had on my hard drive so I used this track as an experiment to check how easy it was to upload to my Juke Box. I think I downloaded the 5 P.M last year when the legendary BossHoss flac'd it. It's an unknown folk rock classic.

FAMILY - Scene Through The Eyes Of A Lens

I first heard this amazing psychedelic killer on the dreadfully sounding Electric Sugar Cube Flashbacks LP. This particular track sounded like shit on it and I made it my mission to hear it in cool sound. Imagine my delight when both sides of this 45 were mastered from the master tapes and placed on The Family re-issue of 'Music From A Dolls House'.

    EVERLY BROTHERS - C.C. Rider

I mastered this track from my mono copy of 'Beat & Soul'....this cover is a cool one with dirty fuzzzzz.

    The SQUIRES - Go Ahead

Folk Rock genius from The Squires. This is the flip of 'Going All The Way'.

    LED ZEPPELIN - Tangerine

I can listen to a couple of Zeppelin tracks without shame and 'Tangerine' is one of those tracks. I love this one so much. Outstanding folky vibes. Very mellow.

The KINGSMEN - (I Have Found) Another Girl

Commercial sounding 60s pop mover from The Kingsmen's 'Up And Away' LP. This is from the out of print Sundazed CD. Pity it's the stereo mix. My mission next year is to buy a mono LP of 'Up And Away'.

The BYRDS - It's All Over Now, Baby Blue

The Best band of all time and my personal heroes. This was their proposed 3rd single but was left in the can until it got an official release in 1989 on 'Never Before'. This is the mono mix. The version on the Columbia release of 'Turn Turn Turn' CD was the stereo master.
