This is one of those band that has been labeled as heavy metal and powerpop at the same time and it couldn't be further from the truth. Hailing from New Jersey, Starz made four studio albums and in my opinion the first three are the best. The first two albums have a hard rock feel to it while the third has more of the powerpop feel. The band formed the ashes of Looking Glass who had a hit with "Brandy (you're a fine girl )". Now they weren't know as Starz yet, they went by Fallen Angels but changed their name once again after picking up Richie Ranno of Stories and dropping their keyboardist making the band we know now as Starz. The band split in 79 but has since reunited to play a few shows around the states. So if you find yourself in a record shop and any of the Starz albums, I recommend you get them and give them a good listen.
