thanks for inviting me to yet another thing to distract me from work! just for that.... you all can be my "test market" in this phase i'm in right now - winnowing down to 100 the 500+ photos i've winnowed down from you don't want to know how many .... for my book.
as for books - in october of this year, two big rock n roll books will be published that include photos from my vintage punk rock days. the first is a book about bomp and greg shaw by suzy shaw. they chose about 30 photos and many of them will be the backgrounds on which text is placed... it'll be a cool and true-to-the-period in terms of graphics presentation. the other is a book called punk365, compiled by holly george warren - she chose 3 pix - penelope avenger & rodney bingenheimer, john cale, and the cramps - for that book which i can only presume is a sort of calendar.
and speaking of calendars.... i just did a prototype for a punk turns 30 2008 calendar. choosing only 12 photos was difficult. i had to go w/ big name old (and some dead) punks and still didn't scratch the surface. and i cheated by including 3 photos of stiv. but what can i say? stiv gave my career a big push!
i'm tired now, but i'll upload some stuff tomorrow when i'm procrastinating or better yet, when i'm listening to a client go on and on...did i mention i LOVE the invention of the head set?
