Sorry for the short notice. This happens tonight.
I'm not part of this, but I highly recommend it. It happens at a location I have DJed.
Come dig 4 excellent DJs spinning some of the finest platters of Sixties Soul and Garage Rock on this planet!!! ALL 45s. ALL ORIGINAL. ALL GROOVY. ALL NIGHT. ALL REET!!!!
Dig these cats and kitten:
Leah Beth--One of the two sweet singers for that go-go girl group The Nouvellas. She has played records at all of NYC's best sixties music nights and clubs and has earned a reputation as a person who can make her records go round.... She's got great records and when she plays them, THEY STAY PLAYED!
Nick Cope--His Hot Funky & Sweaty night in London was all the rage for many years. Then he moved to Brooklyn where he invented the fabulous Weird Gear night. He is tall and he is terrific. He's got great records and when he plays them, THEY STAY PLAYED!!
Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus--He is the resident DJ at Subway Soul Club and also runs the Wang Dang Doodle franchise of groovy DJ nights. He's got ok records and most of them are scratched up!!! But hey, they asked him to do it, so here he is!!!
The Custodian of Soul--He's the fellow who rounded up the talent for this evening. By day (known as Mikey Post) he is a mild-mannered top executive for Daptone Records, America's foremost soul music label; by night he provides the funky back beat for Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens and The Jay Vons--two of America's most wonderful teen beat combos. He's got great records and when he plays them THEY STAY PLAYED!!!!
Folks, those who attend this evening's event will remember it for a long, long time, since so many groovy records will be played all night long. Don't you dare miss it!!!
Bring your dancing shoes - It's gonna be a happening!!
10pm - 4am FREE!!!
Don't forget, the Huck has good food, so come hungry!!!
