November 22 will be the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination and I'm trying to put together a new garage/psych compilation of songs about JFK. The idea is that all of the tracks would reference the JFK assassination in some way--the reference could be a person, place, thing or conspiracy theory that people associate with JFK's death. The assassination could be the topic of the song or it could just be a passing reference.
If you would like to contribute a track, please let me know. If you already have a track that fits the theme or think you could record one before the deadline (Oct. 25), please get in touch with me as soon as possible!
I plan to release this compilation as a free download under a Creative Commons license, and it will be a digital download only. That is, I don't plan on producing any copies of it on physical media. I will produce cover art and I plan on writing thorough liner notes to put it all in context. I want to post the compilation no later than November 1, 2013, as interest in the JFK assassination will be reaching a peak in the month leading up to the 50th anniversary of that event. If you want to contribute a track I would need it by October 25, 2013, to give me time to pull everything together and to write the notes. Hopefully the unusual combination of theme, genre and timeliness will generate some exposure for the artists involved.
