Celebrate the New Year in style at our Nutty New Year Ball at 229, the home of Le Beat Bespoke and Crossfire. There are some changes to this year’s party, with a live performance at midnight in the beat basement from special guests THE SMALL FAKERS. The band will be performing the SMALL FACES 1968 hit album OGDENS NUT GONE FLAKE with STAN UNWIN’s son John narrating, complete with crown and fur coat finery just like the classic COLOUR ME POP video.
It will be the usual three-roomed affair, with northern soul classics in the main room, mod club classics and the beat basement from our international Dj line-up. Doors open at 9pm and we party right through till 6am. With Great Portland Street underground station right opposite and three other tube stations in close proximity, take advantage of the free transport on London’s bus, tube and trains on New Year’s Eve. Tickets are £15 in advance or £20 on the door. Tickets for NYE go on sale 1st October fromwww.229thevenue.co.uk.
The Zoo Zoo Club at the Blues Kitchen, Camden Town will host the warm-up party on Friday night. Free entry before 10pm/£4 after, with two fantastic live bands including soul diva JESS ROBERTS, who got the support slot at our recent STAX show and played a blinder, plus Welsh psychedelic wizards THE METHOD, who have been making a great name for themselves. And NUTS DJs and guests through till 3am
