The Polymorphines: The Polymorphines are a five piece garage-rock n' roll band influenced by late 60s and early 70s Rock N' Roll. This band is for those who love the twangy AND the jan...gly! A sonic and visual incarnation of everything that is cool about Rock N' Roll and that seems somewhat lost in today's current music trends. This will be their second time playing London and is also the beginning of their trek westward, playing across Canada. Their current EP, The Slip, is on the CHRW charts. They will also be coming onair to CHRW Thursday Sept 15th, on Radio What Wave (7 to 8:30PM) prior to the evening's festivities. This lyric, from the 1978 song "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight" by The Jam, resonated powerfully with four Waterloo musicians, despite their eclectic tastes. A rocker, a mod, a punk, and a music purist, who had been jamming together in the back of a Waterloo woodshop in the summer of 2007, had found their collective name: Here's some songs by The Wormwood Scrubs: http://www.myspace.com/the wormwoodscrubscanada The Oily Birds don't have an internet presence, so you gotta come out and see them. Real rock'n'roll from London's coolest cover combo! A mere $5 at the door.See More |
