CHRW's Radio What Wave Presents: Battle Of The 2 Piece Bands Part III
We've had such a blast doing these 2 piece band shows that we had to do it one more time.
Shanker And Romps....Romps plays the drumbs. Shanker plays a guitar. As a pop duo Shanker + Romps have been making music s...ince September of 2007. Their writing, singing and cartooning duties are split pretty much 50/50. They like to sing about bike riding, about snacking, about their pals and about making out. They're playing soon. Come on out, okay?
The above is from their myspace page...they come from Ottawa, Shanker has been in countless garage bands since the mid 80's, all of those bands have been cool! They sound like a kids version of Deja Voodoo...and that's something you've gotta hear to believe!!! They've released 2 CD's, both got lots of airplay on CHRW. http://www.myspace.com/shankerandromps
The Skirt Chasers....The Skirt Chasers are Jason 'Raggs' Legge and Hilary 'Riches' Chan. We beat drums and strum guitars with moderate success. Our debut EP is now available. All music was recorded live with the help of friends, with added bells, whistles and yelps added later for posterity. We will be toting several copies with us to all of our shows so make sure to talk to us after our set.
The above is from their myspace...live this band is more powerful than a speeding locomotive and they've got the beat to back it up!! Wild and crazy blues/punk/garage/rbilly all combined in a band that's gonna knock you senseless. And they're from Toronto, as if that makes any difference. http://www.myspace.com/skirtchasers
The Can Too's....Hamish & Fee are veterans of the "bands with lousy names" scene. Bands such as: The Cheeching Saphires, Rombus, The Teats, Mr. Floppy and the V.I.P.'s, The Unwanted Outlaws, FBI, The Hash Marks, The Leftys, and Underage Thinking have all been folded due to their embarrissingly bad band names. The Can Toos is no exception. The run of lousy band names continues with this 2-piece Lanark County Punk n Roll outfit.
Another myspace bio....this is a London combo that blasts out hardcore punk'n'roll that'll get you hot'n'sweaty from the flying shards of noise. If you've seen these guys before, then you know what i'm blathering about, always a fun time!
The fun starts at 10PM at The Black Shire Pub on Talbot St, downtown London.....$5 for 3 killer bands!!!
