ROCK'N'ROLLSOUL is cock-a-hoop to announce its latest residency. From Friday September 25, we'll be at the PHOENIX, Cavendish Square - just five minutes from Oxford Circus - and our opening night is a little bit special.
On the decks alongside residents Gary Barrell, The Horse, Emma Sunley and the Funk Pursuivant will be Marriott mash-up maestro LACK OF AFRO and former Blow Up! original and current bassist for Mr Weller ANDY LEWIS. If you're in town for the weekend, this little six-hour soul, funk, psych and garage shindig will be the perfect warm-up for Crossfire.
Check out our site http://www.rocknrollsoul.co.uk for the full lineup, plus details of October's Acid Jazz reunion when EDDIE PILLER (who surely needs no introduction) will be spinning 45s with his old mucker STUART KIRKHAM (Happiness Stan's, Soul Cure); and November's DIY psych-funk face-off between THE CRACKLES and THE SOUNDCARRIERS.
Rock'n'RollSoul, The Phoenix, Cavendish Square, W1, Fri Sept 25, 8pm-2am, £5, £4 w/badge/flyer/NUS, Free before 9pm.
