The Brickyard are proud to present Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, one of the most original, energetic and entertaining live bands around! Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are a 9-piece brass ensemble from Chicago via New York, combining brass, jazz, afropop, hip-hop, funk, soul and r&b who've played with the likes of Tony Allen, Jay Z, David Byrne, Mos Def, Blur and Erykah Badu. The group are all brothers (the drummer being the only exception) and sons of jazz trumpeter Phil Cohran (Sun Ra Arkestra, Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians - AACM) HBE are normally seen performing on street corners and subways, with YouTube footage spreading the word, but in recent months have supported Blur in Hyde Park, signed to Damon Albarn's label (Honest Jon's), appeared on Later with Jools Holland and made not one, but two appearances at Glastonbury. Their deep personal connection, genetic virtuosity and shared experience are acclaimed the world over, in the streets, in jazz clubs, in stadiums, at Festivals, and even in the presence of Barack Obama!
