On the 30th of May at 5:00pm, we invite you and everyone who cares about Melbourne's unique culture and nightlife to converge on Parliament House steps and make your voice heard against the proposed 2am curfew.
We are putting forward an educated attack on the State government in the form of a registered protest, backed by Melbourne's nightlife community.
This means that unlike other rogue protests, we are working with the Victorian Police to ensure safety and maximum exposure.
This is the only registered and therefore official protest for this cause. Attending an illegitimate protest will jeopardise our credibility and potentially have serious and damaging effects on the outcome.
We are working to voice your opinions and thoughts. If you have any Ideas, comments or arguments on the matter please put them in the wall. We read every comment and we will use them as ammunition against the proposed curfew.
This is a formal, non-violent, drug and alcohol free protest: violence, vandalism, and stupidity will not be tolerated!
Any negative press will discredit our protest and will hurt the very cause we are fighting for.
We will be broadcasting our protest arguments over the radio waves, so please bring with you a large battery powered radio boom-box so everyone can hear our voice and so they cannot shut our P.A. system down.
Do not bring: alcohol, drugs, idiotic behaviour, violence or weapons of any sort.
This will result in you being removed from the protest by the Victorian Police, and we will fully support them in doing this.
