thanks a lot,we're doing an exchange with a band from Quebec and we are flying to Montreal April 26th (we're staying for 10 days only) They will get us gigs at the weekends. So we were looking for gigs in NYC and New Jersey during the week April 29th May 2nd.
We can play for about an hour and a half
but we would need a local band to play with us as we're only bringing guitars, snare and cymbals
(We can return them the favor if they want to play in France and organize a few gigs for them around Toulouse and in the South west of France and find them a few gigs in other parts of France too)
Voila:)
It would be a dream for us to play in the US
thanks for your help
Michel

If your driving on I-15 through Utah, check out these record stores:
Randy's Records
157 East 9th South Salt Lake City, UT 84111
A lot of vinyl, and in most genres. This dude's been around a long time.
Graywhale
208 South 1300 East Salt Lake City
They've got a great selection of new and used CDs, the vinyl section isn't as extensive as Randy's, but there are some great gems for the taking.
The Heavy Metal Shop
63 Exchange Place Salt Lake City, UT 84111
A great store, but small. Metal is the main draw. There is another record store around the corner that has a bit of old used vinyl. I think its called uprock records.
Raunch Records
1119 East 2100 South Salt Lake City, Ut
The punk/thrash/metal/whatever hot spot. Raunch has vinyl, cds, and tapes. All your skate punk favs. Even some skateboard stuff too.
Groovacious
173 North 100 West Cedar City, UT
This place has vinyl, cds, tapes, even a few 8 tracks. A wide range of genres, and a lot of cool surprises.
Get ready to spend some money, and have fun on your trip.
The lady and me will be travelling the West-Coast(Seattle to LA n back, via Montana and Vegas) for a month in August n September 2013 and I'll need my fix of live music.
Are there Garage/Surf/Rockabilly/'real' Country festivals taking place around that time? What clubs can you recommend to check for gigs in LA, SF, Portland, Seattle and in between?
Also tips on good 2nd hand vinyl stores, music stores selling used equipment, and any odd 'must see' place are very welcome.
Thank you!!!!
Oh, they do and they've been doing it for about 9 years. They love doing it even to inappropriate song like the Sonics' "Boss Hoss."
I love the Warsaw , and the kind of stuff you're playing , but , as I live 1000 miles away , it's not in the cards. Not now , anyway. let me ask you , have the girls in NYC (I mean, Brooklyn.) started line - dancing to Rockabilly , yet? You may think I'm making this up. I wish I were.
Cool
I love Rebel Night! Hope I get to go again sometime soon!
nice
It was either a good one you missed or a great one you experienced.
Another fantastic bill, built to entertain the audience, to challenge the bands with excellent billing, and to make money for the bar. Due to the fact that this show is at Midtown Tavern..cover charge is only $3 so anybody over 21+ can afford this!!! This should be a 15$ show but its not!!!
IMPORTANT: Get there early as the set list was made to start and end early. Times are solid..do not miss Buildings and dont be fashionably late..as you will miss out. Every band on this list could headline..all do headline usually...reserve your babysitter now and still get home at a decent time!!!! We will be hanging out until close after the show with some chilldown music and coctails..
Buildings 9-945
Ghosts 10:15 - 11
Bloodnstuff 11:15 -12:15?
I am apart of a Brooklyn-based garage/surf/etc. band and we are relatively new. We have been gigging around Brooklyn (The Gutter, Trash Bar, Don Pedro, Legion Bar, etc.) and I am always on the lookout for great venues to play. Right now, we're specifically looking for NYC. I have checked out all of the venues listed on Garagepunknyc and some other general ones (Brooklyn Fireproof, Delancey) but I wanted to see if anyone has any good recommendations on some other cool places to check out.
But we can expand this - post where you're from/where you've played and what you have found to be fun/have great sound/great crowd, etc.
moving to Nola in a week. someone, please get me excited. bands/venues/anything?!
With little fanfare, Roky Erickson did a live show at Union Transfer in Philadelphia Monday night. Here's a write-up about the show that appeared in philly.com
These guys got me hooked onto this site. Too bad they missed Salt Lake this past summer.

This is the go-to site/book for PDX bar-hopping!
You can search by neighborhood, by subject (like 'Strippahs!'). It's at least a decade old, and tells all ya need to know. Enjoy!
