    • If anybody out there wants to take off at the last minute for the end of budget weekend and catch the last mummies show I've got a hotel room for today the 24th and will sadly not be able to attend. the room is at the Mission hill on Mission street for two people it was 75$ but I'm thinking 50$ OBO. Come on fag holes the clock is ticking its supposed to be the last show in America.

    • there's also a new place up the block from wacko on hollywood blvd near vermont called vacation i think, but i haven't been there plus there's a record store/barbecue place in echo park somewhere! ask around...

    • thanks! is the place you're thinking of that's next to the echo called origami? i asked the same question on a blog and someone mentioned that place...i'll definitely check out amoeba though, i've heard a lot about it but never been. Carlos said:

The obvious answer is Amoeba, but it really is the best. It's even better than the other two Amoebas in the Bay Area. If you got time to spare, you WILL find awesome stuff in their dollar bins. I also like Freakbeat in Sherman Oaks. There's a little vinyl shop that just opened right next door to the Echo on Sunset, but I think it's overpriced.

Any leads for Oly/Seattle? We're trying to get on the bill for the Ice Cream Social in VBC, but if anyone knows something better, we're open. • Greetings,

Myself (Cryptofur of the Memphis Morticians) and Derek (of NYC's latest garage sensation the Other Men) are looking to start-up a Soul-Trash band. Think Link Wray meets Stax meets Rev. Joe Jackson meets a trashcan full of rock.

We're both pretty experienced fellas, looking to start up this fairly unique project and require a caveman or woman to help keep the beat. We're based in the NYC area and not into the junkie-flunkie stuff. Booze and weed are fine, but no Horse-ridin' urban cowboys.

If you got solid drumming skills and dig early soul, garage, gospel and surf, then hit me up at: rev.chris.disanto[at]gmail.com

    • The Tiger Lounge is the new hip place. Located in Georgetown right near the Seattle Design Center on S. Orcas just off of 4th Ave S. Bra's for the Cause (with Howlin' Houndog & Joey "The Saint" & the A-Men) 17 Oct 2009, 09:00 PM - The Tiger Lounge 412 S Orcas St Seattle, Washington 98108 OK so we have been nice and pretty so far, but now it is time to get "down & dirty"! Howlin' Houndog & The Infamous Loosers will be playing with our sax player's band Joey "The Saint" and the A-Men at Tiger Lounge down in Georgetown here in Seattle on Saturday Oct 17th. Joey "The Saint" and the A-men will be serving up the nastiest (but tasteful) "Dirty Blues" and warming up the crowd for the "Bras for the Cause" charity auction to support the fight against Breast Cancer. Then Joey will play with Howlin' Houndog in the Infamous Loosers (along with their full Horn Section!) Shakin' it down all night! Come give us (and "Bras for the Cause") your support! See you there!

    • In Boston, you've got Harper's Ferry, Great Scott, The Middle East, The Paradise, Church, and TT the Bear's. They don't have rock 'n' roll every night, but they do have the right kind, when they have it.

I book shows in Northampton, (western) Massachusetts, about 2 hours from Boston, at The Elevens. Let me know if you want to make a stop here.

Here's some other good venues: In Boston: PA's Lounge, O'Brien's; In NYC/ Brooklyn: The Trash Bar, The Charleston, Don Pedro's, Otto's Shrunken Head.

And a couple resources for shows in the northeast US:
