    • This happened to one of my engineers on Friday, May 2, 2008 and it was just plain EVIL! Please pass this Missing Gear List around and keep your eyes and ears open (both on-line and in the stores). Let us know if you hear or see of anything suspicious. Lari Peterson is one of my most trusted engineers and has never done anything bad to anyone. He has done sound for many bands over the many years that he has been working in the Northwest. What hurts one of us hurts us all.
Stuff like this really boils my blood! It is as uncool as it gets, stealing from Musicians! That is the most unforgivable sin! We need to spread the word and catch the bastard(s).
They should pray that the cops get them first!
      Upsettedly,
      Erik 4-A

    • gilman has pretty much been the same musically (yelly, screamy, crusty, unless it's poppy, punky, goofy) since its inception--we just don't notice how much it sucks when we're young and impressionable. and if you're over 23, you might be annoyed by the awkward, sullen, and/or obnoxious teenagers. but anyway, they RARELY have any surf/garage shows, and they definitely won't have any the last weekend of april. that said, you might want to check out Ty Seagall at the Hemlock Tavern on Apr 29. he's one of the members of the Traditional Fools. if you're in town on the 25th, Sic Alps and Crash Normal (france) play the Hemlock. Crash Normal also play a warehouse/backyard party on sunday if you want me to keep you posted. Dance Craze puts on twistin' dance parties all over town, like on mon the 28th at the Casanova Lounge. if all else fails, you'll be pretty safe at the Knockout. or you can trek out to oakland and go to the Conga Lounge, a tiki bar that actually plays surf, hawaiiana, etc. for more info, check out my website: jetlagrnr.com/sf.php!

    • Um the Gilman sucks now. You might be supporting a volunteer-run club, but it is far from the ultimate ideal punk getaway it used to be. Also, don't give your money to the communist propaganda that is Maximum Rock N Roll just to get Gilman's address. it's 924 Gilman street obviously. The cross street is 8th, which also intersects San Pablo a few blocks above. Pretty close to North Berkeley BART.
