    • Saturday, Feb 23rd The Redwalls w/ Sabrosa Purr My Pet Saddle @ Knitting Factory Hollywood 7021 Hollywood Blvd Hollywood, CA 90028 All Ages Show/Ticket Info Text 'REDWALL' to 467467 to buy tickets “The new self-titled album by the Redwalls is a taut collection of seriously catchy tunes, full of killer riffs and vocals that are sometimes almost heartbreakingly sweet. Overall the music feels like an expert blend of the Fab Four’s carefully crafted pop and the fuzzy, frantic garage of all those hungry little bands that put out two mind-blowing singles 40 years ago and still turn up on Nuggets-style comps.” - Miles Raymer / Chicago Reader

    • I ended up missing out on the Friday night (it was an American holiday weekend and I was flying standby from Vancouver - all planes were full). I arrived in LA Saturday AM, got to attend the meet'n'greet (meat'n'greet?) BBQ Saturday afternoon (very cool), and both the Saturday and Sunday shows. The short version of the story is that I had a really good time and would definitely go again if there is another edition with a line-up as strong as this one. A lot of the bands were really great, the one I enjoyed the most was TH'LOSIN' STREAKS, who I hadn't seen yet and had been looking forward to seeing ever since their record on Slovenly came out.
It was also cool to meet a lot of like-minded fans, including some from this board. The room was a veritable who's-who of Rock'n'Roll Fandom.
If you weren't there, you definitely missed out!
I will post photos etc. once I have sorted through them all.
Big THANKS to Real Boss Hoss and The Eye for staging this event!

    • I was also going to throw in the towel after this Blow Out, but Gore convinced me to stay on and now he's leaving me!!

I'm going to soldier on, but less frequently...

There was a lot of underlying (behind-the-scenes) drama with this years Blow Out that Gore and I had to deal with and we're both tired...

In the end... the weekend was a blast and I hope to do it all over again next year!

    • actually the last show I booked and I am promoting is Crash Normal at The Scene. April 24th.

      so yeah...

      Golden Boys on Feb 25th
      Fallouts March 8th
      Holy Kiss March 22nd
      Surprise Band April 19th
      Crash Normal April 24th
My permanent vacation starts April 25th.

I doubt I'll do anything after that...both Boss Hoss and Norma will continue on. I'm just way too bitter these days. I need a vacation.

    • I've started a new discussion forum for people in the Seattle area who are passionate about REAL rock 'n' roll, of the garagepunk variety and otherwise. Come on over to Jet City Rocker and be one of the first to sign up (and keep coming to The Hideout too!).

    • Totally - let me know when... i know they have soul and mod nights in Chicago which is 60s and all, so great, but there is only so much hammond organ this girl can take in one night. A good friend of mine who also DJs just moved to Chicago - we used to DJ together - played soul, ska, punk, garage, rhythm & blues, funk, etc ... And her husband has a band called The Living Blue, they won the Little Steven's battle of the garage bands a few years back - great stuff - we should put together a big garage night - djs, bands, garage garage sale, etc - or somethin' ... you can reach me more quickly on myspace - http://myspace.com/ednamillion
