Mika HekkanenThanks, John!
I am quite disappointed with the current Finnish music - the biggest thing must be Finnish rap/hip-hop, then there are old stars and new... heck, I do not even know what the next things are!

Gladly there are millions of small bands that make interesting underground music and try to make a small or a bigger breakthru. Locally most bands play some kind of heavy metal, but there is also a big number of garage rock, punk and other indiebands. The best festival of the year is already around the corner:

My "band" is still too bad to play anywhere, but we keep on making music anyway. We have made a couple of EP:s during the last 2 years and maybe we will have our first band rehearsal soon! :D

But , he was pretty enthusiastic about the Rockabilly and Teddy Boy bands , even tho' he followed that stuff ,more , in the 80's. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE NEXT THING WILL BE , HERE , EITHER. But , they'll probably call it something it's not.

you've got a sound that I think will appeal to people who're taking a liking to early 70's Underground US/UK Hard Rocks band. And , yeah , Sabs , Stooges ,and the like. Death by Sustain !

But. We try not to stick to one genre or style. If a song needs a distinct expression of style, we try to make it happen - whether it is heavy metal, punk or even 70´s disco or EDM. But the end result is always a big mix (or a mess) of different styles and there are always a lot of loud guitars :) less

Mika HekkanenMy solo project, Honkakangas, is a bit more serious one. A bit of industrial, a bit of guitars and bass and a lot of Finnish melancholy! I plan to take this one more towards Nine Inch Nails, which is a big influence already.

It sounds "Modern enuff" , you know , the beat holds it together , but , yeah , I can hear that crusty early 70's sound... IF YOU HEAR IT IN YOUR HEAD , THAT IT SHOULD BE PLAYED DIFFERENTLY , I SAY , DO IT.
