Then, to help you find your way around and get started, I recommend taking a few minutes to read this page (seriously, please read it). It should go a long way in giving you a better idea of what all is available to you here. Hopefully you'll like what you find and keep coming back for more, because that's what it's all about. Anyway, there's not much of a garage scene here in STL, but there are some good bands and venues, and we do get good touring bands coming through town once in a while. I really don't go out much anymore due to family (having two kids pretty much kills your social life) not to mention tinnitus, getting older/lazier, etc. Wash U. is a great school, though, and it's close to the U. City Loop... lots of shops and a couple good music venues. Other areas of town to check out would be south city, including S. Grand and Cherokee St. Record stores: Vintage Vinyl, Euclid Records, Apop Records are the best. The Record Exchange is good, too, for used vinyl (TONS of it there). Bands to check out: Doom Town, The Nevermores, Kentucky Knife Fight... hmmm, that may be about it. Yikes. If you're on FB, join this page: http://www.facebook.com/stlrocknrollless
