Tribute to The Dogs - Real Detroit Rock

  • After 40 years THE DOGS still got bite. They played amidst the 2009 SXSW fest with special guest Wayne Kramer and we're waiting for a new DVD coming soon. This Detroit rock band began in the late 60's under guidance by John Sinclair and made up part of the Rock Revolution alongside MC5 and The Stooges. As that era ended, the band went stray moving to NYC and then finally settled in LA where they became influential on the punk movement of the 70's.

Last year, a 2 disc tribute was compiled with notable Japanese garage, punk and hardcore bands including Ed Woods, The Gimmies, Mad 3, The Go-Devils, Jackie & the Cedrics, Boris, Melt-banana among many others as well as a few Australian, New Zealand and US bands like the D4, The Bellrays & Texas Terri. The set also includes 3 unreleased live tracks by THE DOGS themselves!

The tribute is nicely packaged with album art by Rockin' Jelly Bean and a 24 page booklet including color pictures and original photos and features a testimonial by MC5 manager John Sinclair.
