I personally think that he's a bit underestimated. His looks at least have influenced lots of artists

I wonder who was the first with this leather image?
On my videos you can see Les Chats Sauvages in leather pants. So it must be a European thing, because good old Gene didn't sport his leather outfit in the US but it started in the UK. Where he was hailed as the greatest thing on Earth.
So does anyone have the knowledge who started this bad boy image?
Just wondering.
