Pirate love – the lonely streets ( from the voodoo rhythm album , black
vodoun space blues, they are from Norway Oslo, the new fresh garage punk
explosion just begun
Movie Star Junkies – lucky horse ( from the voodoo rhythm album Melville
that is out now, the singer stefano also plays in the in the red band
kraken.. MSJ are from Torino italy
The Guilty Hearts – glassell park (from the voodoo rhythm album pearls
before swine that comes out in December 2008, new recordings with a Bass
player !!)
Chuck Higgins – Motorhead Baby (on rolling rock records, recorded by
legendary Rony Weiser in 1974 on the Bass is Ray Campi.. I think that’s
where the Motorhead has the name from.. the whole album is a completely
blast.. rolling rock was way beyont time back in the early 70’s I think
with the whole retro rockabilly movement in the end of the 70’s..)
Lynn Hope – more bounce to the ounce ( saxophonograph records, ok I took
the ‘hit’ from the album ha ha ha but he’s actually hit was song of the
wanderer may some of you are familiar with that song or tenderly….
he’s a African American, from Ohio wearing a Turban and was famous for
his Bar Walk.. a wild man on the thenor saxophone.. and he was a true
believer in the Koran as well where he did studies and went to mecca and
all that crap
Bob Freedman and Orchestra – Tombstone Blues (it’s on the rock’n’roll
the untold story compilation out on rockafellar records from the vol5)
fucking great song.. and it’s the x-rated version of this song…
Andre Williams with the Inspirations – jailhouse Blues ((it’s on the
rock’n’roll the untold story compilation out on rockafellar records from
the vol5)
The Fugs – Dirty Old Man ( self released album has no label from 1966… I
don’t say anything about the fugs.. everybody should know them..)
A Cads – steal your heart ( thorns records, 1966 they ase from south
Africa and this song is from their 2nd album hungry for love)
http://www.rock.co.za/files/acads.html
Genesis – in the beginning (Decca 1969, yea.. those genesis with this
stupid drummer I don’t even wanna mention the name.. but this album is
without him.. may that’s why it’s good… a psyche rock classic man !!!
with ultra crazy peter gabriel
Roy and the Devil’s motorcycle – I had a dream ( from the voodoo rhythm
album because of women, they are a classic incredible band out of my
home town.. they are just recording a new album for voodoo rhythm but
this song is from the latest one
Fischer Z – berlin (fame records, they wanted to be the big shit in the
early 80’s area with lots of publishity and stuff.. but never actually
jumped on the train exept the wanna be intellectual music journalists
from the rolling stone magazine and other shit papers, but berlin is a
great song I think
John Lee Hooker – 714 Blues ( ABC records.. it’s actually recorded in
1971, but overdubbed in 1973 with a funky bass you know.. but still
fucking fresh, sounds like jimmy castor punch .. and believe it or not
joe cocker does percussion on some of the songs on this album.. ha ha ha
and even sings a duet with hooker.. but this sucks.. I think this album
shows perfect how fresh this ‘new’ sound funk was.. band is perfect I
think, and it has the worst record cover ever made
Utah Smith – take a trip (it’s from a fantastic Compilation on
Mississippi records, they are a record store in Portland and only carry
Vinyl records.. and they have this fantastic record label where they put
out mostly gospel music.. this is Reverend Utah Smith a legend it’s
own.. use to fly as a angel over the head of the people in the church..
of course on a rope ha ha ha… and playing guitar of course…
Washington Phillips – what are they doing in heaven today ? as well on
Mississippi records is this preacher playing on a self made organ bell
instrument recordings are from the mid 20’s
Big Jay McNelly – Road House Boogie (saxophonograph records , talking
about tenor Sax Maniac then Big Jay is the man.. true out of control
live shows and still do tours around the world.. and still… the wildest
of all tenor sax players in the universe !!
Nathan Abshire – pine grove blues ( on swallow records ,also covered my
voodoo rhythms own mama rosin, this song is also famous under the name ‘
au negrese’ recordings are made in the mid 30’s
Roy Orbison – Domino ( this is on a strange mid 60’s compilation calls
hullabaloo au go go.. and it sounds that there’s kinda strange
percussion in the song, like a tambourine that is not on the original
sun recording..i kinda like it.. also the horn section that was added..
the label is design records.
