DEVIATION STREET
Friday December 20th
Christmas party! Phil Istine’s (actual) birthday!! Four top bands and one amazing guest DJ!!! Seriously, those that make it in are in for a treat...
Deviation Street is London’s hot hang-out for desperate rock’n’rollers. You’ll see & hear the best new garage and trashy rock’n’roll bands we can find.
In addition resident DJ Phil Istine & guest DJ Andy Roseaman (Brighton garage royalty. The Hideaway/Stack Sick/The Big Itch etc.) will be on hand with the vintage vinyl, spinning 45s of garage, beat, rock’n’roll, & other assorted trash.
LIVE BANDS:
THE 45s
The band thousands of you are talking about! High octane Rhythm & Blues by four souls from Carlisle. The 45s metaphorically step straight from a 1950’s time machine, sent from Mississippi and crash landing in Cumbria. The group come vocally and visually inspired by the sentiment and character of the early rock'n'roll/beat era. Harnessing their songwriting talent with an explosive repertoire of classic sounds and lyrics, the band pass an admirable nod to Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters and Bo Diddley, together with the outrageous guitar of hero Wilko Johnson. Debut single is out on Heavy Soul Records just in time for this show!

CAT BLACK
Cat Black are a London Rock'n' Roll Band (capital letters intentional!), creating original and retrospective sounds (Stones, Flamin' Groovies, Stooges), and specialising in EXPLOSIVE live shows. With the help of vocal trio The Giddi Mama's, Cat Black's sound is unmistakable!

THE NOVEMBER FIVE
"The November Five combine the driving sneer of Earl Brutus, some of the atmospherics of the Arcade Fire if they weren't twig-stroking Canadians, and some very British bombast - in The November Five's hands, guitars do, very much, squall." The Quietus
Our old mates are back to tear roofs off. Be prepared. Oh, and the debut album "If You're Satisfied You Are Dead" is now out!

And The Franklys look like...

LIVE:
THE ROMLEYS
http://www.facebook.com/theromleys
Kinksian Krunch from Liverpudlian boys, who have just released their debut 7” of blistering beatness on Heavy Soul Records (The Strypes, The Kumari, DC Fontana). Shindig! says "classic British R&B feistiness...it’s the pre-war spirit of ale houses and loose women that inform the songs as much as rich harmonies and mop tops". 6 Music love them and so should you!
THE FRANKLYS
https://www.facebook.com/thefranklys
Just back from their first US jaunt, London’s four ladies from international climes are the hottest prospect on the rock’n’roll scene right now. The Grapevine Music said "If 50's rock'n'roll met 70's punk and had a lovechild, it would be The Franklys." Check out the video for ‘My Love’ for a quick taste.
MODERN WAVES
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006198072061
Dandy Marc, Lady Danger, Disco Pete, and Jonnyboy are Modern Waves, an alternative garage rock'n'roll revelator. New kids on the block, but turning heads already. They love the Alley Cat and it loves them! Proud to have them back for another show.
MARK & THE CLOUDS
https://www.facebook.com/markandtheclouds
Opening the show for us is another new London conglomerate, headed by Marco of Instant Flight fame. Freewheelin’ classic rock’n’roll inspired by the greats of the 60s and 70s, they play with passion and have the songs to back it up.
In addition resident DJ Phil Istine & guest DJ Chubby Dekker (Timebox Radio Show) will be on hand with the vintage vinyl, spinning 45s of garage, beat, rock’n’roll, & other assorted trash.

My name is King Cayman, I'm a little One Mand Band from Madrid, Spain. I started playing two years ago, down the name of "Cerberus Goat". I stopped a year ago, but I comeback this November. I've played in some fests and finally recorded my first album called "demo(n)". "demo(n)" includes 8 original songs and 2 covers, of Art Guy and King Dude. The whole album has been recorded in my house bathroom, with primitive techniques and do-it-yourself produced.

Sweet but Deadly proudly presents...
GRAHAM DAY & THE FOREFATHERS
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 29TH
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Graham-Day-the-Forefathers/574380655917510
The crucial ingredients of The Prisoners, Prime Movers, Solarflares and The Gaolers extracted and squeezed into one stripped down power-trio. Cranking out choice live cuts from four Graham Day-fronted bands, The Forefathers (triple) distil 30-odd years of high quality songwriting, low-fi production and high energy performance to their stripped down garage-rock essence.
Also on the bill!
THE HIGHER STATE
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-HIGHER-STATE-Fan-page/105106636195028
Another Kent sensation...fourth album imminent! We’re talking 100% authentic 60s folk-rock/psychedelic band. Rich in melody and vocal harmonies - pure West Coast! Think Love, The Byrds, The Buffalo Springfield, The 13th Floor Elevators, Jefferson Airplane...
THE AARDVARKS
https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Aardvarks/488271297868697
Inspired by the best in 60s sounds (Mod, garage, pop-art, psychedelia freakbeat), The Aardvarks were formed in the mid-1980s in Ealing, West London, as part of the same scene which eventually reared Kula Shaker. For many years, they were one of the most popular bands on the Mod and 60s Revival circuit, issuing a string of acclaimed 45s on labels such as Screaming Apple and Detour. Now back together for shits and giggles, The Aardvarks’ 12-year lifespan is remembered on their new CD anthology 'Sinker, Line & Hook - The Anthology 1987-99', out now on Cherry Red Records.
+ DJs Phil Istine (Deviation St/Shindig!/The Kumari) and PJ (Dirty Water) spin all the right records in the right order - garage, beat, mod, psych etc.

Stay Sick in Brighton, Weirdsville in London and the Frathouse in Bristol. Google these, it should be a good start.
Good evening everyone! I'm looking to book The Mobbs some more gigs around the UK and I'm after some suggestions some venues or promoters to contact!
Cheers
