- Blue Marinos….Nose Riding….brand new release from this Spanish band on the KOTJ labe.
- Fleshtones….Violet Crumble Cherry Ripe….from the recent Face Of The Screaming Werewolf release on Yep Roc records.
- Merinuks….King Merinuk….from their latest EP and from Hamilton Ontario.
- Matt Ellis….All By Myself….from his recent Full Moon Fever release and from Hamilton Ontario.

- Alien Mustangs…The World As I Am….Greek psychedelic combo who just released this 7” on Lost In Tyme Records. Lost in Tyme started as a garage fanzine that came with a CD and they have since become a legit record label specializing in garage/beat and psych.
- Black Angels….Bloodhounds On My Trail….from their 2006 Passover release and from Houston. This goes out to Tim in North Carolina.
- Tami Neilson….Call Your Mama….from her recent Chicka Boom release and she’s a Canuck in New Zealand.
- Hiroshima Hearts (now known as Jenn Marino & The Hearts)….14 Floors….demo from 2014.
- Blackie & The Rodeo Kings….Made Of Love….from their 2011 Kings & Queens release and features Exene on vocals. This is the start of our tribute to Bob Lanois, Hamilton engineer, producer, performer, photographer, etc who passed away recently.
- Dave Rave Conspiracy….Weight Of The World…from a cassette called A One Act Play With V8 Engines and Bob recorded this.
- Simply Saucer…Instant Pleasure…from their 1989 Cyborgs Revisited that Bob recorded in the mid 70’s. Bob also helped the Mole financing the release of Cyborgs Revisited.

- Eddie & The Hot Rods…Horseplay….from a 1976 7” and this version is different than the version on their first LP. Lew Lewis (we did a tribute to him last week as he just passed) was a full time member of the band and played harp on this one. This is the start (for this show, but 3rd total) of our look at the series of books Another Tuneless Racket by Steven H. Gardener that covers the beginnings of punk/new wave. Each of the bands we play has a chapter about them in the book. This week we look at the early UK scene.
- Eddie & The Hot Rods… Teenage Depression…..from the 1976 Teenage Depression release. Eddie and the Hot Rods were the first of the punk/new wave combos from the UK to play in London, November 1977 at Fryfogles.
- Hollywood Brats….Tumble With Me….from their self titled album that was recorded in 1974 but wasn’t released until 1979. Surprisingly, there was a Canadian version of this.
- The Boys….Sick On You….from their debut longplayer from 1977 and 2 members came from the Hollywood Brats.
- Boomtown Rats…. Lookin’ After Number One….from their self titled debut album. And yes, they are responsible for spawning Sir Bob Geldoff.
- Sex Pistols…. Pretty Vacant….from a July 1976 demo and features Glen Matlock on bass.
- Sex Pistols…Suburban Kids….as above. Did you know that 3 of the 4 original Sex Pistols have played here in London?
- Buzzcocks….Can’t Control Myself….from the Time’s Up bootleg with original vocalist Howard Devoto. Howard went on to form Magazine whom we’ll hear next week.
- Clash….I’m So Bored With The USA….from their North American debut long player that came out in 1979. In Canada, there was a 1977 pressing that came and disappeared fairly quickly.
- Despair….Sweet Sweet Heart….from the compilation called Glitterbest. This is a 1973 recording featuring future Vibrator Knox.
- Chris Spedding & The Vibrators….Pogo Dancing….1976 recording also on the Glitterbest compilation.
- Vibrators…London Girls….from their Pure Mania release from 1977. Vibrators have been to London at least 2 times, probably more.
- The Clash….Capitol Radio….1977 single and had to play a second Clash tune.
- The Jam….The Modern World…..from their This Is The Modern World release from 1977. Couldn’t find their first album in my collection, it has to be misfiled somewhere…
- Elvis Costello….Radio…..from his Stiff demo from 1977 and you can hear the big changes that were made in this song prior to release on Stiff.
- Elvis Costello….The Beat….from the Live At The El Mocambo release from 3/6/1978. This was aired by CHUM FM as a live to air. Elvis came to London in October 1978 and played at Alumni Hall with the Battered Wives opening.
- Stranglers….Something Better Change….from their No More Heroes release from 1977. Stranglers made it to London in June of 1981 at Fryfogles.
