I would have to go see Adam Ant if he came around again; I blew him off a few years ago and I am sure I would have had a great time if I had gone that night.  

Turns out I'm going to see Adam Ant a couple of days later at the same venue. When I first heard Adam Ant was coming to Pittsburgh, I toyed with the idea of going to see him, but then I heard about Cheap Trick, so I decided to see them instead. However, my favorite new band, Prima Donna, just announced that they will tour with Adam Ant, so I bought a ticket for that show too. Those two days will be full of firsts for me; going to see Cheap Trick and Adam Ant for the first time, going to Stage AE for the first time, and going to two somewhat major concerts within a couple of days of each other for the first time. I'm looking forward to Adam Ant, but I really wish Prima Donna were touring with Cheap Trick; I think those bands would complement each other well.

Yeah , this came out in about '86. Poison 13 was an early Big Boys offshoot band. IF MY MEMORY SERVES ME RIGHT , THEIR EP INCLUDED THIS SONG , AND VERSIONS OF "PARCHMAN FARM" AND "STRANGE MOVIES". THE SUB POP CD PICTURED HERE , OF COURSE , CAME OUT MUCH LATER. I SAW THEM ONCE , THEY WERE PRETTY ROCKIN' , BUT, BY THE TIME THEY BECAME A "CULT" BAND, YEARS LATER , WITH THE 90'S GARAGE CROWD, I'D LOST INTEREST. THE WASTE KINGS , FROM CHICAGO , DID A BETTER VERSION OF "ONE STEP CLOSER " IN MY PERSONAL OPINION , THOUGH I'M SURE THEY'D DISAGREE.  

'Strange Movies " was almost a standard in Texas (Nervebreakers , T. Tex Edwards with Lithium Xmas and The Swingin' Cornflake Killers , YEAH! YEAH ! YEAH ! with Barry Kooda , etc.).....The Waste Kings , dissed in their day because they could play their instruments, also released a great version of "Strange Movies".

Has anybody else heard this before? Sounds a lot like "Blackout of Gretely" and "Dirty Water." This band also did a cover of "Strychnine."

"RAW AND ALIVE" , OF COURSE , HAD THE AUDIENCE FROM A BEACH BOYS SHOW DUBBED IN (THAT'S THE URBAN LEGEND , ANYWAY.) DROWNING OUT THE GUITARS , ESPECIALLY , AND OTHER PARTS. FOR A BAND ON IT'S WAY OUT (IN THAT CONFIGURATION.) , THEY SURE COUGHED UP SOME GREAT NEW SONGS. WHICH OTHER SHOW DO YOU MEAN ? THE UNDUBBED FAN RECORDING FROM THAT TIME ? THEY  STILL HAD IT , AS A LIVE BAND , AND THAT RECORDING WILL PUT TO PAID ANY DOUBTS , BUT , IF THERE'S MORE , STILL , THIS IS AN EVEN BETTER TIME TO BE A SEEDS FAN.

If reference is needed, it has all the good GW stuff in it: The rawcut songs of JET GENERATION and the comicbook tales of the likes of UFO ROMANTICS, topped of with that sweet feedback noise gravy. The cleaner sounds of later albums have been taken back a bit. Songwise, here's some jump in points for ya, should need arise: Ghostly you, robot maria, magma nobunaga, earth vs alien & Female Machine gun.

I don't have the album with this song so don't have easy access to any song credits that would be listed. Does anyone know who the woman is who sings on this track. I would have assumed that it is Michelle Mae but since she doesn't sing on this live version posted by K Records, I now assume it's someone else. Is the woman who sings in this video the same person who sings on the studio version? If not, who sings on the studio version and who is singing in this video? Thanks.

No , you can't replace that feeling of going through many , perhaps crappy , records , and finding , as you say , a real gem , or even something you may later come to realize is also a gem , and say , D'OH !!! We are still lucky , here in Chicago , that we still have record stores. When Reckless and Wax Trax were duking it out for vinyl supremacy from about 1989 - 92 , and the smaller stores were still hanging it in , that was the best time , but , even now , we're spoiled , compared to a lot of other MAJOR FUCKING CITIES who should be overwhelmed by the show of support  their record stores are recieving  , only to find , they have no record stores , or damned few. The internet is a greatthing to have, if you don't live near any record stores , or are searching for something rare , but , it's appalling how readily people will turn their backs on their local small businesses.

Nothing will ever beat the feeling of rifling through records and tapes and uncovering a gem or two. Unfortunately a 300 mile round journey is a treat these days rather than essential. I was jonesin' for a copy of "Neil's Heavy Concept Album" by Nigel Planer (As Neil from "The Young Ones".).... had a couple of songs on an old mixtape , and even , to my shock , found the single , (Traffic's )"Hole In My Shoe"b/w "HurdyGirdy Mushroom Man" , at a thrift store. But ,Melissa was good enough to burn me a CD of the album.

I saw an interview with Lemmy , in the 80's , where he was asked if it was true that he was seen with Morgan Fairchild at The Opera....."I HATE bloody Opera. I saw an opera on telly one time , and this bloke was singing about sausages. SAUSAGES!!!!".

 It sounds familiar , like some early 80's Psych/Garage WTF thing , but , I can't place it.

I am not sure, if this is the right forum for my request but I thought I should try it.

I am searching since 3 years for a song I heard at a german festival (not live, only as a background song during a break). Nobody knows that song. Maybe it is an old garage punk song.

Here is my video capture of that song, probably not the best quality, but better than nothing. Some lyrics could be: " you can go and run around and tell them all the truth... I don´t need you ..."
