Now we're talkin'. Right when we need 'em, these Memphis boys are coming back to show all the floppy-haired, indy garage-moppets how to rock 'n' roll. I saw these guys a couple of years ago at Gonerfest and they haven't lost a step from the old days. Everyone in attendance went ape-shit from first song to last in a rain of booze and sweat. I cannot wait for them to take this new album on the road.

very exiting news! so, their split 7" on Scion AV was an announcement?

I saw Jack in London just before Xmas with Harlan T Bobo and Limes as a revolving band on stage and it was a cracking good show.

It makes sense to go with In The Red as they release Reigning Sound and Parting Gifts. No conflict of interest which might arise if it's released on Goner.

Personally I don't give a shit who releases it, can't wait to hear it. Scion AV released an Oblivians song last year, which I guess was a new recording and sounded pretty good.

I would assume it is more of a business decision/ conflict of interest for Eric. If you were a Goner Artist would you want the guy who is supposed to be promoting your band spending time/ money on his own band. Also, won't put the band in a position where Jack and Greg have an issue with Goner (Which Eric owns) on the business front . Both business ventures gross a lot of money, but you have to divvy out the Net (which I am sure is a lot smaller).

I wonder why this is not on Goner, ITR better distribution, maybe?

Color me Jazzed! This is great news for garage junkies like me.

This is all great news. The fact that The Oblivians have a new album released through ITR certainly makes them the 1# garage label out there right now!

I love Voodoo Rhythm too but c'mon... This is monumental news!!

I thought the purpose of this site was to lay waste to classic rock and the FM narrowcasting.

They look just like a garage punk band here. Sure later they became superstars a little later isn't that everybody's dream? Don't hate just cause they were successful.

9. Restless Virgins...Television Child...from their 7". Late 70's/early 80's combo that features Evil Farm Children's Jeb Bond on drums.

10. The Litter...Action Woman...from Pebbles Volume 1 that was released back in 1979 and opened the floodgates for 60's garagepunk compilations. Bought this one way back then and haven't beenthe same since!

11. 63 Monroe...At The Boot...from the NFG/63 Monroe 12" that was recorded at the Cedar Lounge back in 1980 and self released.

12. TV Freaks...Casual Encounters...from their CD at the station and a request.

13. The Demics...Blue Boy...from their full length LP from 1980.

19. Teenage Head...Top Down....1978 version on a 7"...Beach Boy style harmonies with punk rock guitar and rock'n'roll attitude.

20. Uranus...53 Buick...from a 7" by these local scene makers from the late 70's.

21. The Shakers...Out The Door...7" on Warpt Records and outta Hamilton Ontario from the early 80's. Features Dave Rave on vocals and guitar.

22. The Diodes...City Of The Dead...from the brand new Action/Reaction CD on Bongobeat Records.

23. The Ugly Ducklings...Just In Case You Wonder...7" on Yorktown  Records from 1966 and one of the first records that i ever bought.

I have to admit, I do like their power pop stuff, but prefer their earlier surf/garage material. This IS great news, though! Looking forward to getting my hands on this, so thanks for posting!

They were pretty good at the power-pop stuff (which was obviously influenced by Steve Marriott), but some of it on their last album bordered on Green Day-style pop punk, I think. I'd actually been wondering what they've been up to lately, so this is good news. I agree that their early surf'n'drag garage stuff was really great.

This is really cool news for the people who liked the Boss Martians' surf/instro days.  Personally, I think their newer power pop stuff is just barely "meh", but whatever.

Yeah, Dirty Water put out a shed load of stuff last year and are kicking off this year where they left off. They've just put out the new Johnny Throttle album (Alfonso from The Parkinsons) and have got the new Thee Exicters record coming out soon.

You know what would make all of these labels even cooler? If they advertised here on the Hideout!

Probably has to do where you have your feed sourced. Is it Mevio? You'll have to login to your Feedburner account and check what you have as your "original feed," then investigate and see if your previous episodes are located there.
