    • You're right . I read that , too. But , again , when they were both living , it did'nt seem like a veiled reference to an ongoing dispute....When they did  "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" , I really thought Johnny only played on that track , under duress , given that he openly supported Reagan , while the others.....did'nt. It's very possible he did'nt even play on it , or not all the guitar lines..... By that time , they were supplementing his guitar parts with people like Walter Lure and Daniel Rey , but , mainly , because , after all those years , Johnny refused to play Lead Guitar.Nothing political , as such. I read that he did'nt want "Bonzo" released in America , but caved when the others agreed to call it "My BrAIN is Hanging Upside Down".  That , in itself , made The Ramones seem like something of a Democracy. Not so.

Isn't that also the subject of the "KKK took my baby away"? I was under the impression that Joey wrote that in reference to Johnny.

    • Pink Fairies ! I read , when they played that first French Punk festival , Le Rue mont Dart , or whatever , sorry , in '76 , they were referred to as "Hippies" , just because Larry Wallis still had long hair. Any early British Punk band worth their salt was influenced by The Pink Fairies , and I'm not talking about the Pink Floyd mkII TENDENCIES ON PART , NOT ALL, OF THEIR FIRST ALBUM....jOhn
Of course , Wallis played in the first incarnation of Motorhead , but , "The Snake" was Motorhead / Punk '77 before either one existed !

    • Mike , I think you've won the coveted "Beat on The Brat " Golden Baseball Bat Prize. Of course , on an entirely different level , there was the concealed threat of violence in the psuedo Spectorish "She Belongs To Me", which I thought was about Johnny and the guy who smashed his skull in , reportedly over a woman , with a motorcycle helmet. I did'nt know , and , it's a good bet , you did'nt either , any of you good people , unless you worked with The Ramones , that Joey and Johnny hated each other deeply ,and only existed as a business partnership , not as friends , all over , whatshername,  Linda. Joey could'nt let go , long after it was over , and this song spells it out...John.

    •  BOY , THEY BAN THAT , AND CAN'T EVEN RELEASE "DO THE SCREW" BY THE CRYSTALS....I guess I was'nt thinking "Who Slapped John" , because I have'nt been slapped since Frampton was still coming alive. Most women I was with settled for verbal humiliation (Which is what this Garage Punk shit is about.), instead. Look Cavan up on You Tube. There's recent footage.      John.

    • Out of all the shows here at Garage Punk dot com I've found that Bom Bom Lulu  on The Rock 'n' Roll Rampage Radio Show delivers the highest quantity of kick arse kid friendly songs.

Also there's a few good kid friendly songs on the Darling Pet Munkee ep (temporarily free to download due to BoingBoing's interest) - songs inspired by the old ads in comic books.

    • Yeah, I meant Chris Bailey and Ed Kuepper's early Saints!

      I recalled some tunes.

They released some good singles.  (You know?)

Their fist LP wasn't my cup of tea, but this tune was good.

I still haven't heard any other their tunes.

I don't like them very much (I've heard only 5, 6 tunes.), but this tune was cool at the time.

I didn't remember even about the el Records!

    • I love The Saints, especially Know Your Product and I'm Stranded. I love JAMC's version of Vegetable Man, which makes me think of either a flasher or a superhero (could he be both?).

Do you mean you haven't heard their early singles?  I don't have the CD's + DVD box set, but if memory is right, I think they didn't have any great tunes on B-sides except both cover versions of Syd Barrett's "Vegetable man" and the Subway Sect's "Ambition".

And I think early JAMC weren't a great live band.  Actually I have a bootleg of their ealy live, I have played it few times, haha.  But you may found some good tunes, so I donno.

BTW, have you heard the Saints?  I can recommend their CD box set "All Times Through Paradise"!

Jim Reid is a big fan of the Saints!

Also, early Subway Sect's tunes are great, too!  If you didn't know.

(Feat. 2 MUY Bonita lookalikes , Milli y Pilli ,even if their hair's dyed blonde , and a rare appearance by Los Yaki , whose singer resembles Dave Aguilar on crank , as they BLAZE (AS DAVE WOULD SAY.) THROUGH "Diabla Con Vestida Azul /La Plaga " (Devil With a Blue Dress on/Good Golly Miss Molly. La Plaga means "The Plague" , as per Los Teen Tops' hit version.) , Did no one mention "Psych-Out" withThe Seeds and The Strawberry Alarm Clock ? Maybe they did...."The Cool Ones" (W/The Leaves.) , The Pre - Punk Standells appeared in "Zebra in The Kitchen" and "Get Yourself a College Girl" , "iT'S A bIKINI wORLD" (CASTAWAYS , ANIMALS , SHOT AT the Haunted House nightclub!), "How To Stuff a Wild Bikini" (Kingsmen , Hondells.) , " The Young Animals" (The Orphan Egg. But , 3 Iron Butterfly tunes , plus the very talented , dreadfully named , Fantasy (Their album comes recommended , but they could have put 'em to better use , here....) .

    • HANK IV. HA HA HA.Hope he's better'n Hank III. i'M SORRY , HE DID A NO - COUNTRY , ALL - Rage Against The Machine set when I saw him. No one's talking about how Bocephus (There is only ONE Hank Williams.) made such an ass of himself on TV. HE NEEDS HANDLERS TO KEEP HIM FROM GETTING HAMMERED BEFORE HE TRIES TO TALK POLITICS ON NATIONAL TV. But watch for Roy Loney. Nice as the day is long , but , he makes Godzilla sound like Morrissey. The Legendary Stardust Cowboy , if you think he's just a Novelty act , he's got you in his sights , and there will be no "Single Bullet Theory". The Subsonics are still together ! YAY!   No Bunny , c'mon! I don't even have to tell ya. Michael J. Pollard is making an appearance in Hollywood just to prove he's not No Bunny's Father....Besides, they don't even have Jackalope running wild in California.

Darling Pet Monkee do garage songs based aroung the old ads in the back of comics -- they just got boingboinged and made the ep a free download for a limited time  - it's good stuff. Sea Monkeys are Coming For You!
