I Like the band too , but I think they only toured in USA ?
Am I wrong ?
Cause I never heard of them playing Europe , especially France.

I am a Detroit dude, so I've seen them many times and hung out with them, my friends' bands have shared shows with them, etc. At shows, they are all pretty approach-able and you can chat with them easily. Rachel can be really sweet (even though she isn't always sweet on stage).
All of the above comments I would not disagree with: you all seem to feel out the band pretty well.
Regardless, I always love seeing them live. They are fun and they play fun music (even though some shows are better than others, I've never seen them suck live). When they start playing, the room seems to get much happier because the music is good for the mood.
All I can say is, even though they are a cover band, check them out and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I agree. They're a cover band. They do it well, but I'd like to hear some oriignal music from them. I saw them at Ink & Iron & they were very lackluster. I saw them a few years back at Spaceland & they were much better.

I liked 'em a bit at first - then I got "Songs we Taught the Detroit Cobras" with all the original versions so now I don't need 'em anymore. Kudos to them for picking great songs to cover though.
Maybe they're better live, I haven't had the opportunity to see them.
As cover bands go I'm much more into the Del Moroccos.
...really dig their 'Village of Love' 7" and Mink Rat Or Rabbit LP, unfortunately never had the chance to see them on stage.
So I recently picked up a Human Beinz 45. The A-side is "Nobody But Me" and the flip is a medley of "Nobody But Me" and "Mony Mony". The label is "3C" and the release date is 1987. I thought it was just a late 80s re-issue, but it seems to be some weird kind of 80s remix or something. I'm not sure if I like it or not. It has its own strange charm. There's an poduction/arrangement credit to "Dave Benard for RADIOCom" on there. I can't find any info. Any help?
It's really a hard one to nail down but here's the one's that jump to mind immediately:
Ugly Ducklings - "Nothin". It's a very weird press on Arc records out of Toronto who I believe were the parent company of Yorkville (the press you normally see). Also, the b-side is their other big hit "Gaslight". Nobody I ask seems to know anything about it. I paid 4 bucks for it about 12 years ago.
Trashmen - "Surfin' Bird". It's not that crazy or rare, but it's an Aussie press I bought for less than a buck at a bookstore when I was down under. I also got Oz presses of Blue Cheer - "Summertime Blues" and Troggs - "I Can't Control Myself" and Jumpin' Gene Simmons - "Haunted House" for the same price at the same place. All killer records if not super rare.
Shadows of Knight - "Shake" pic sleeve. Found at the bottom of a box full of real shitty 80s jukebox 45s.
49th Parallel - "She Says" I just really dig the B-side "Citizen Freak".
Link Wray & Bunker Hill - Friday Night Dance Party / The Girl Can't Dance
THE FIVE CANADIANS 'Writing on a Wall" 4-song 7" reissue on Get Hip Recordings...
I love quite a bit of the cowpunk from the '80's, which is a big difference from the cowpunk of today. It's hard for me to pinpoint a true favorite LP, especially with bands like Jason & the Scorchers, Green On Red, the Long Ryders, Beat Rodeo, etc. However, one I do love to spin (and drink to) is "Long Gone Dead" by Rank & File. In case you didn't know, they were originally the punk band the Dils, but brothers Chip and Tony Kinman pursued the roots and country music route...Last I heard, they were in the band Cowboy Nation.
As a fan of your show, the hillbilly ones are definately my favorites! Always lookin' forward to more of these!

...just too lazy to search through all of the 11 pages here, but I hope anyone mentioned WANDA JACKSON!!!
I noticed two pieces of news today that are really exciting: 1) Merle Haggard has a new album coming out in October and 2) The title track is available for free download here: http://vanguardrecords.com/downloads/Merle+Haggard
Hi
there is a "subgenre" garage / soul / surf ... when in the "Rock" genre.

Cheers! A lot of material right there. Shame that there's no no 'garage' category.

Kopper: The Chesterfield Kings were amazing as well at the show that I saw. Strangely the first time I saw the supersuckers with The Hellacpoters in 1999, I wasn't impressed, and it wasn't until later that I started to enjoy them.
I saw them in St. Louis on that tour with the Charms and NY Dolls and I thought they really (super)sucked! I remember seeing 'em back in the mid-'90s when they were still GOOD. I dunno what happened to them, but they really went flat after their third or fourth album. Oh, and the Chesterfield Kings stole the show that night, too.
My two cents. ;)
Thanks, Adam, glad you like the show! Can't wait to see what you've got cookin'! Keep me posted!

Awesome podcast and while you're there be sure to check out Jahshie P.'s Outlaw Radio Chicago, Blue Ribbon Radio, Dogwater Radio, and Jahshie's Street Punk Hour. There are even more shows coming soon, possibly including one by yours truly.
Thanks Steve! You have one of the most unique and interesting tastes in music, which makes your show one of my favorites on here! Glad you like mine!

Many apologies garagepunkers for putting my hand up for this awhile back -- real life got in the way of dreams -- I'm very glad to see an Oz show up and running.
Thank you! For the photo and the comp!
Downloading right now.
J.R. Williams does a lot of cool trashy comps over on his FLICKR page. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jrpopartz/ This is the first all-country one I've seen. He's a cool artist too, in the horror-comics style. His work graces my desktops of both my laptop and my office computer. Gonna download now.
With way to much time and effort i figured it out.
