    • I need to know.  What are some of your favorite dance floor fillers of the Soul variety?

    • June 14, 2010 12:50 AM CDT
    • thanks guys. that's awesome. ALL of those Crypt/Norton/unknown weirdo label albums are incredible. The ones I am seeking are not so much devoted to one particular sound of music(ala LAS VEGAS GRIND) but the ones that will mix trailers, novelty songs and savage rockers in one big mess of insanity.

soul preacher: psycho serenade is definitley one! never heard of "International Vicious Society" , thanks! (btw great show!)

kopper: all of those are monsters, total desert island shit. (btw-great show!!!)

btw anybody have a discograhy for Romulan?

    • I'd include the Sin Alley comps, too, by the way. The Desperate Rock'n'Roll comps are great, too. Oh, and It's Finking Time!

    • I've been hunting for the Big Itch Vol. 1 for years. If anyone has it (and can rip some high-quality MP3s of it), please let me know.

    • To all these great comps you could add "Cough syrup for Elvis Impersonators" released in 1989 on the BIG GAL label.
Do you include "Psycho Serenade" in the Wavy Gravy series ? It's great anyway !
"It's finking time" is a super cool one too but it's more 60's "garage" oriented.
You could try the "International Vicious Society" serie too, full of international weirdos'n'psychos, on the UNIVERSITY OF VICE record label.
In a more sleazy, Vegas grind style : "Swing for the crime" on the JAZZBO label.

      Cheers !!!

    • I have the Forbidden City Dog Food album. It's pretty cool. I was gonna say, I just got one of the Mad Mike comps on Norton. Those are pretty demented.

    • Forbidden City Dog Food - This was supposedly one of several tapes that Lux Interior made for friends. Howie Pyro and/or Kogar the Swingin' Ape would know all about it. Axe em!
      Yah-Yah

    • I kind of thought this was all PR. I may be way off base, but this just seemed like another hilarious KK moment. I hope I'm right, but may be sadly mistaken.

    • Not cool guys! All i can say is: WE WILL MISS YOU!!! You guys rocked me like i never rocked before

    • damn. until I found this website I did not really check out new music, it was all nuggets/pebbles/back from the grave and THE CRAMPS. via SAVAGE KICK and R'n'R SUICIDE, the various incarnations of Kahn and BBQ were one of the first new garage groups I really dug. so very sad. although I don't really believe "that's it".

really I'd like to hear BBQ's side of the story. Thee King rules, but let's face it: his cream corn aint exactly vacuum packed too tight.

PS: I hate laurie anderson. I'd see her on night flight and it was like "your parents' art rock".

    • if bbq is not a retard they'll get back together.

    • KK sounds like a mess... for every man there is a breaking point.

    • Crazy shit! I never liked the look of that opera house... far to pointy.

    • hhm.. just want a few opinions on bands and such so feel free to post.

    • June 13, 2010 12:40 PM CDT
    • Psycho - The Sonics. Must be a contender for the best scream thread as well.

    • June 13, 2010 8:43 AM CDT
    • I'll start the ball rolling..... I don't Buy It by Ten Benson....

    • June 13, 2010 12:04 PM CDT
    • Another good one... Jessi Cerutti's scream on the Honkeys' instro-smash, "No Brakes"!

    • June 13, 2010 9:18 AM CDT
    • Jerry Rosalie's screams on 'Psycho' or Lux's bloodcurdler at the start of 'Love Me'. so many screamers to choose from

    • June 13, 2010 6:53 AM CDT
    • Personal and the Pizzas-Raw Pie: If the Stooges had New Jersey accents and sung about pizza and retards--it's that good! The must listen to record (cassette) of the year.

Thee Oh Sees-Warm Slime: Psychedelic garage rock. What I imagine a nuggets band would sound like in 2010.

Dead Farmers-Go Home: Band from Sydney, Australia. Thick sound with tons of wah-wah. Heavy like Blue Cheer.
