I AGREE. Motorhead was the first Metal band Punks could agree on . Before there was talk of "Crossover" or "Speed Metal", They were arguably more intense , more "Who gives a fuck?" than many Punk bands. They were'nt part of The New Wave of British Heavy Metal. "We are Motorhead , and We're Gonna Kick Your Butts !"- LEMMY.    I WAS JUST THINKING OF "OVERKILL" , YESTERDAY....My favorite early 80's LP , tho' , would be "Iron Fist"..... I EVEN LIKE THE EARLY STUFF , WITH LARRY WALLIS , WHICH ALMOST NO ONE LIKES. Lemmy was well liked by  the Punk crowd , even though he did'nt conform to their dress sense , and he even did a short stint playing Bass for The Damned as "The Doomed".

Has to be The Ramones. Probably First one just for the way it flows. Does Motorhead's Overkill fall into this category? Lemmy said they had a lot in common with the punks. Some great songs on that album.

Do you know where to find a list of albums produced by Pete Curry (aside from the ones he did with Los straitjackets and Eddie Angels different projects)? Such a great producer, and sound engineer.

.......Check out The Sirens , from Detroit , too. THEY FORMED AROUND THE TURN OF TEH CENTURY, as a glammed - out girl garage group. Eventually , they took in Male members (huh huh huh ). When they played Chicago in 2006 , they had a Male Drummer , and , later, a male second Guitarist. The band took some ribbing from "Serious " Detroit musicians and fans , because they only did covers. Yeah , but they were doing Sweet , Slade , Roky Erickson , MC5 , Hollywood Brats , Equals , Gary Glitter , Suzi Quatro , Stooges , and even the seemingly never - covered "Go Back" by Crabby Appleton. I did'nt have a problem with that.

The band seldom got out of their own back yard , but toured Eastern Europe. They released two albums, breaking up not long after the second , but , reforming sporadically. Their Lead Singer and Costume Designer was Uber Vixen and really nice gal , Muffy Kroha. Yes , Dan Kroha's sister. She can scream her head off , but  her range is such , I really thought the band had two singers. She's probably laffin' about that one , still , today.

Hmmmm....I only own two of their 45s. One being "She's A mONSTER", OF COURSE. Garage was uncool , here , then , almost as uncool as it is now, I mean with snarlin' vocals , fuzztone and tremeloed gutars , cheesy keys , thumpin' beats. When was that last hip ?    I saw The Uglybeats get it right , but that was about 6 years ago. When is "Pebbes MCXVIII + XI - Micronesia Attacks", due out , I wonder' ?

1. The Cramps....5 Years Ahead Of My Time....from the How To Make A Monster CD. A 1982 demo for A&M Records....hahahahahah...fat fucking chance! We'll come back to this song a little later tonite.

2. Legend Killers...Rippin' It Up...from the Boot 2 The Head CD that was recorded live at Call The Office back in 2005. Time flies way too fast and we played this one as someone had a list of all the bands that mentioned The Ramones in songs....they missed this one! And there's 2 shout outs to What Wave on this one if you listen carefully.....

3. Dustbin Flowers...Bayside Jenny...from their only CD and the party is Feb 14 at Fitzrays here in sleepy London Ontario.

4. Mere Humans...Temple....demo from this Ottawa combo that has former members of The Evil Farm Children.

5. The Mogs....Hate...from the El'Mogundo CD on What Wave Records. They will be playing on Saturday night at This Ain't Hollywood in Hamilton, along with Safron Sect and The BB Guns....

6. BB Guns...I Shot My Baby In Mexico...recorded live on CIUT FM outta Toronto one year ago.

12. The Beatles...She Loves You....from a Japanese pressing of Meet The Beatles....I was just a little gaffer in grade one when The Beatles played Ed and didn't see the show. Next day, on the way home from school on the bus, all the kids were screaming ' She Loves You YA YA YA!' over and over!! Warped my little mind and I haven't been the same since!!

13. Buddy Holly....Down The Line....from the double record Rocks set on Charly Records. This was recorded in 1955, some extra instrumentation was added in 1964 by Norman Petty and now you get to hear it!! Absolute Killer and this is probably where The Black Holes found the version that they cover.

14. Ritchie Valens...Cry Cry Cry....from the Ritchie LP on Del Fi. Killer guitar work by a young Ritchie Valens.

15. Big Bopper...Big Boppers Wedding....the flip of Chantilly Lace on Mercury. Love the maniacal laught on this track!

16. Dead City Soul Review....Burnin'....demo and they were in town last weekend recording their next release.

17. Dragsville....Royal Drag....from a soon to be released CD.

18. Sangomas....Chopping Heads....demo from this Montreal combo.

I was once told "Suzi is a Headbanger " was un - pc because a "Headbanger" is upposed to mean someone who gives great head   I neve r heard the term used that way , before or since.

"Glad to see you Go "was aimed at Dee Dee's ex GF , CONNIE , WHO SLASHED HIS ASS WITH A BROKEN BEER BOTTLE ,  and had almost taken Arthur Kane's thumb off wheN she dated him.      "GET ThE GLORY , LIKe cHARLES MANSON". It was a fantasy , seemingly shared by the whole band , of putting her out. She did it to herself , with drugs.    There's so many others......

Some of my contributions were not directly credited to me (They were edited , with new content added , usually.) .But there are some new ones under my name.

When the page began , most people , myself included  , only knew Death for "Keep on Knockin"" if even that.

When Death first played Chicago , I was going to go , but , did'nt. I did'nt feel like being on public trans longer than at the actual show , that night. I heard they only did some of the songs on that first 12" , and padded the set out with Reggae songs from their other  band.  I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A HAPPY CAMPER TO FIND THAT OUT , IN PERSON. SORRY........But , they obviously have it together , now .

I missed them again on NYE , because Roky Erickson was also playing , I might add , in a less batshit crazy part of town .......

Good point , I forgot they were still finding their way in '73. Just as people don't want to recall The Bad Brains were formed from the ashes of a Jazz Fusion group , til they later came under the spell of Reggae and Punk. It just did'nt make good copy "Before The Ramones"......THERE'S STILL SOME TIGHT GROOVES THAT GO BACK TO RAW FUNK IN SOME OF DEATH'S RECORDINGS. That's not a bad thing. i'd say they were Punk , or Proto Punk , but not in a Ramones /Heartbreakers /Dead Boys kinda sense. Most people that had'nt dared venture into The Bowery at the time  would'nt have known anout the embryonic NYC PUNK SCENE.

What Death were into was VERY different from the Black music scene in Detroit , obviously , but , even if they knew teh right people , it might've taken them at least a couple of years to infiltrate the post Stooges/MC5 club scene , which did go one to include people like Hiawatha Bailey (Cult Heroes) and The (Detroit) N****ERS , who , reportedly , were assembled by a White Svengali    www.roctober.com
