have you ever heard the original greek version of pulp fiction's misirlou???? very trippy, enjoy :-) :
Here's my shout for the musical and lyrical talent from the UK! John Shuttleworth (aka Jilted John oh yes he of 'Gordon is a Moron' fame) real name Graham Fellows. A man that sings and plays his Bontempi organ like no other! Listen for the line 'that shepards pie was stunning, but I'm half way through my pudding, I can't go back to savoury now". genius. Listen out for the key change towards the end! Well I like it, maybe it's an English thing? Mr A The Barber
My brother sent me this one. It's a kid from the Congo with a homemade monochord guitar. Looks like it's made with a tin can and a wire. Sounds cool.
>it's obvious from the comments to your podcasts that you're terribly unpopular!!! ;-)
It's nice to be in with the out crowd.

you give good set...
Having no gimmick is the worst gimmick of all.
Oh by the way, I don't even need any reverb' nor any effects to be real hard to understand when I talk :
I just come from somewhere else !!!
Sorry for your ears.
But I do type playlists.
Good point.
My entire schtick was ripped offa the Purple Knif show - and unless you've watched hundreds and hundreds of shitty invasion movies where the aliens talk all garbled, it's a bit hard to understand everything he's saying. That's why I love it.
And what about Lux Interior in his "Purple Knif Show" ???
I definitively love reverb'...and Dan Electreau of course !
Oof!
I'm guilty as charged.

"type the setlist out" cool thing for people who don't really understand english. Chris Farr said:
Then maybe you'd enjoy my surf podcast. http://chickenlips.mypodcast.com/2009/10/Episode_1_surf_surf_surf-2... And I made sure to type the setlist out too. No gimmicks - its about the music. Lemme know what you think, anyone who listens.

I was listening to Little Richard's Version of "Settin' The Woods on Fire" over and over again yesterday... So that's gotta be up there.
I'll second The Saints "River Deep Mountain high" as well as their version of Connie Francis's "Lipstick On Your Collar"
The Fleshtones: Treat Her Like A Lady (Cornelious Brothers and Sister Rose)
The Dickies: Paranoid (Sabbath)
Handsome Dick Manitoba: Ju Ju Hand (Sam The Sam & The Pharoahs from Turban Renewal Tribute album)
All of the classic rock songs the replacements only make it a quarter of the way through on "The Shit Hits The Fans"
Summertime Blues - Blue Cheer
River Deep Mountain High - THE M'FFFFING SAINTS, YA'LL!!!!!!!!!
Hmmmm.... i think covers are what make a band a good Band! i really don't know when it became uncool to cover songs, since that's what the tradition of singing, writing and playing songs is all about... here's a list of some bands I played with my favorite covers.
The Untold Fables - Hall Of The Mountain King (arranged by The Who)
The Milkmen - everytrack (my tribute band to the Milkshakes in 1985)
The Miracle Workers - You Don't Know (13th Floor Elevators)
The In-Sect - Knock Knock (The Humane Society)
The Get Lost - One Way Ticket (The Morlocks)
Reverend Beatman & The Unbelievers - Come Back Lord (Come Back Bird remake by The Chevelle V)
The Come N Go - Baby What's Wrong - (Jimmy Reed's classic)
Los Straitjackets version of Smells Like Teen Spirit
Some of my fave punk covers:
Toxic Reason's version of "Shape of Things To Come"
Eater's cover of "Waiting For The Man"
Pointed Sticks cover of "The Witch"
DMZ's version of the Troggs "From Home" - I never realized this was a Troggs song till recently. They totally made that song theirs in my opinion.
A very favorite of mine is The Brief's Come Dancing, the Kinks Song. You can find it on the lp Give the People What They Want....a Tribute to The Kinks
Does anyone dig her? She started out as a founding member in The Von Bondies. Now she plays with her band Silverghost and F'ke Blood. It might be more nu wave than garage, but she rocks! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcie_Bolen
the micragirs definitely! and they are so cute! always rootin' for my natives! and sweatmaster also from finland are just kickin' ass!
