    • Yeah thanks... I ain't no purist (didn't get the impression that any of the other guys are by seeing what they do else on these forums and in their contributions and their shows), but I sure as hell am childish. A bit of shit-talking is due considering all the connections this FUZZBLOKEIA thing has in common with the HIDEOUT. If ya like it, no ones gonna give ya the eye, or shit like that. So please, don't get me into any discussions here, yer points respected and all. Once more with sugar: I have no particular aggression against Little Steven, I just don't listen to him or Springsteen. Since they are bigshot stars, it should be possible to speak out towards them too, in whatever vocabulary I want and without the accusation of jealousy for their, uhm, achievements or some crap like that. Springsteen music gives me the pukes and "I" don't give a fuck what he chuckles at. Don't take it the wrong way OK? :) But think whatever you want, of course. MikeL said:

And another thing...you guys can talk all the shit you want about Springsteen (I'm sure he laughs about it all the way to the bank), and about LS (I think his Fuzztopia is way cooler than the Garage Punk Hideout just because of the graphics alone). If I don't get barred from this place for speaking my mind, then I'll stick around, because I do like to keep an open mind about these things, unlike some people.

    • Fuck all of you if you don't like the way LS does things. That kind of purist mentality is just plain childish.

But I'm having troubles with the reply section. Do I talk to Ning about that. The scrawl bar keeps bouncing back up to the top, and once I get passed 14 lines (not 7 like I thought) I no longer can see what I'm typing because it's all below the window. And being the worst typest, I HAVE to see what I'm typing otherwise there are tons of typos.

    • I don't have any web or tech knowledge so I don't know who beats out who. But anyway, I didn't think anyone would rip off your old designs and all your ideas just because they didn't want to join this new thing which is better, like you say. I only noticed today that you had nothing to do with it. But I'm having troubles with the reply section. Do I talk to Ning about that. Why would I set up a lame-ass proboards forum when we have this? Ning beats the snot out of proboards and phpBB combined.

I didn't realize that you had nothing to do with this proboards thing. But I noticed that a bunch of past users from then were signed up for that. Yeah I had to re-register. Someone here had brought it to our attention so I thought why not....

I do have one problem here, though. Once I get passed a number of lines when typing (like 7 or more) the scrawl bar on the side starts bouncing around back toward the top and I can't see what I'm typing because it's all below the window. With my luck, I'm probably the only one with that problem.

That other forum that ripped off everything from my original board does not use the same databases for content, so no, none of your old posts will be there nor will your same username or any of that stuff. Basically, it's a pretty lame copy of the original. The Hideout, on the other hand, is the old Forums taken to the next level (and done at a time when it was ahead of the game in that regard... when the Forum was in serious decline and social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook were on the rise), and I think those of us that are here and actually use it realize that.

    • Thanks! George was definitely a character. He was one of those folks who knew everyone back in the day here in the Pacific Northwest, but you never heard about him. He fixed most of the gear people used in the Studio (which recorded bands like the Wailers, the Sonics and many other Pac NW bands!) or knew the folks who did. He told me the Truth about a lot of people around here (instead of the Stories most told) A lot of History was lost when he died. This saddens me a lot. He shoulda wrote a book! Oh well, no one would believed the Truth anyway. Thanks for paying tribute to one of the many "Unknown Soldiers of the Music Business".

    • Very nice tribute, sounds like a good man will be missed. Thanks for posting this

    • No, they haven't gone on sale yet. http://www.myspace.com/budgetrock Their Myspace page is where you'll be able to buy them through a Paypal link. They're supposed to go on sale in the next week or so.

    • August 31, 2009 11:44 AM CDT
    • Series tickets are already on sale?! When did that happen? I was supposedly keeping an eye out for those....

    • August 31, 2009 11:07 AM CDT
    • Nobunny is also playing on Saturday, but earlier in the day.

    • The Mummies are playing October 24th at Bottom of The Hill but individual show tickets are still not on sale. Just series tickets at the moment.

    • August 30, 2009 1:49 PM CDT
    • Does anyone have any idea what day the mummies are going to play @budget rock in SF. Either no one out there in the world wide web knows or the information is eluding to me. What the Cheerios!! No Bunny! what day are they playing. In fact if anyone has the complete schedule that'd be tits

    • M' Lord...

That track doesn't ring a bell with me - I checked thru a bunch of my playlists and didn't find anything that might fit the track you describe.

At this point I think you should post a recording of you playing the piece on guitar - it would be much more helpful if you could also do the Wolfman Jack vocals over top.

    • I always liked the stupid humor that Zacherlie did on that song "Dinner With Drac". I wonder if HE did anymore things like that.

    • August 31, 2009 11:09 AM CDT
    • Tickets will be on sale soon.

    • August 31, 2009 10:23 AM CDT
    • i don't think they sell tickets i think it's free. I could be wrong though Rockin Rod Strychnine said:

    • As lead singer with no musical talent my guys would tell you more about what they use but this what we like to bring for our gigs:
      - guitar: Danelectro Lire and (the classic) Vox AC30
      - bass: Danelectro Lire, Selmer Amp on 60's Vox Bass cabinet
      - drums: we used several kits but we recently play live with and Olympic kit as far as I can remember
      - mics: set of 60's Sure Mics (can't remember the model but I can remember their great warm sound)

As far as I am concerned:
      - Hohner Blues harp, Century Percussion half moon tambourine (nothing very exciting) and two sets of cheap maracas that I hold in one hand (looks more garagie and less "salsa")

Let me know what you guys like to play with...

      Cheers,

      Laurent,
      Les BOF! lead singer.

    • What do you use to get that garage sound? Guitars, amps, mics, recorders, organs, drums, tambourines, or anything else .. Go!

    • August 31, 2009 1:55 AM CDT
    • I have three favorites:the Sonics last Halloween in Seattle with Girl Trouble at the Paramount Theater, the Cramps in 1997 with Guitar Wolf and Demolition Dollrods, and the Mummies with Phantom Surfers in Olympia, WA in 1990.

I take it that every other member in the Hideout either runs a club and has hundreds OR they are just got too drunk to remember.

    • Well thank goodness, it was everything before they started recording for Colombia Records (in the UK) and not afterwards.
Now if he'd get started on those box sets. Did anybody read the articles in last Springs' Ugly Things? There's over 60 unreleased masters AND HE OWNS THEM!
