I have a hard time getting upset about people I don't know passing away, but this one is a real downer. There will never be another band like the Cramps, instantly recognizable, they owned any song they covered. Condolences to Ivy.

OHHH! Come on! What times are these?!? First the Bo and now Lux... that's terrible news! We where just alking about the CRAMPS lately and how big they are to us in our little cave. How great they are, their style, the music, the humor... man this is all hard to get. ...Thinking of Ivy. "Come on little momma let's tear this damn place up!"

I would hazard to say that The Cramps were Garage Punk ground zero, and Lux will be missed.

Just got home and read the MTV article after a friend of mine called me to tell me about it. Sad day for Garage rock, his wild antics will live on in infamy.

I'm sorry guys... here's confirmation. from a press release received by PJ at Dirty Water...
Aleix Martinez, the Cramps' publicist, tells me it's true. "Lux passed away this morning due to an existing heart condition at Glendale Memorial Hospital in Glendale, California at 4:30 AM PST today. The family requests that you respect their privacy during this difficult time. "
all I can say is fuck.
February 4, 2009 6:13 PM CST
nooooooooooooo! This really hurts...my stomach just dropped about 12 flights. The Cramps were such a big influence on my music and a great doorway to the whole garage scene. I guess I feel pretty dam lucky to see them a couple a years ago. Fuck! Ron Asheton now Lux. Rest in Peace.

"Poor Poison Ivy...fuckin' sad."
That's just what I was thinking. They had the right kind of love.
February 4, 2009 5:12 PM CST
Now I'll wait for confirmation...
February 4, 2009 5:08 PM CST
Holy fuck...
It goes without sayin' that the Cramps are one o' the most trashy bands (and one o' my top favs of all time!) and without them turnin' me on this sleaze...well, shit I don't wanna think about that...fuckin' sad.
Does anyone have any other sources other than the Daily Swarm (which ain't the most journalistic)
Glad I got to see 'em live a few years back...sad I only got to see 'em once...
Poor Poison Ivy...fuckin' sad.

I love them, they only have one EP so far, you should track it down. I've filmed them quite a bit, I should post up some other videos some time.
Nao Nao (drums) is standing in as Atomic Suplexes Bass player this April when we play in Tokyo.
