Now I'll wait for confirmation...
Holy fuck...
It goes without sayin' that the Cramps are one o' the most trashy bands (and one o' my top favs of all time!) and without them turnin' me on this sleaze...well, shit I don't wanna think about that...fuckin' sad.
Does anyone have any other sources other than the Daily Swarm (which ain't the most journalistic)
Glad I got to see 'em live a few years back...sad I only got to see 'em once...
Poor Poison Ivy...fuckin' sad.
This SUCKS with a capital S!!
Horrible, horrible news.
Their music, along with the interview w/ Lux and Poison Ivy in Incredibly Strange Music, Vol. 1had a profound effect on my life.
Lux dies, but Bono lives. There is no god, and if there is, he has pathetic taste in music.
"I dig that goddamn rock n roll!"
I was close to the band around 1985-88. Candy Del Mar was a pal of mine when I was a teenager so I met the band a couple of times. There was a time when they were my absolute favorite band! This is sad news indeed. Trying to get some info but it is difficult at the moment. Keep us posted.
Stay sick
Turn blue...
OMG! WHAT? Is that true?
Woooowwwww. The Cramps recorded some of the most unruly rock in the galaxy from Goo-Goo Muck to Green Fuzz.
Stay sick Lux.
Shit, this does suck. Rest in peace Lux, we love you.
Damn, this sucks: http://www.thedailyswarm.com/headlines/cramps-lux-interior-rip/ RIP, Lux!
everyone else can get them over at eMusic.>
Thanks for the heads up.

Last time I had a record pressed I found the cheapest place was GZ Digital Media in the Czech Republic - http://www.gzvinyl.cz/en/vinyl/ Even including shipping costs they were cheaper than anywhere in the UK and they did a great job on my release which was a 10 inch EP pressed on red vinyl.
It's been a long time since I have dealt with that, but United in Tenessee used to be one of the cheapest, most of those super thin black wax 7"s that you can see light through in your collection came from them most likely. Though I believe they do have heavier weight vinyl available. If I recall what made them really cheap was they had mastering/label /& pressing packages that made it cheaper than doing each seperately on your own. http://www.urpressing.com/ Bill Smith in California also used to do alot of independent label stuff (SFTRI for one) though it seemed like a lot of them gravitated to Erica Records, also here in Southern California. But, maybe you'd be best off finding someone local to save shipping costs. http://www.billsmithcustomrecords.com/index.html http://www.erikarecords.com/
What's the best place to have a record pressed at ? Price-wise ? Time-wise, etc etc?

If you missed the first batch, another lot of the posters from the estate sale went up, but they're $5 more now. Not sure how many he (Sam) has left. Friedles poster
Our Guitarist has a turquoise one he picked off of ebay. It was basically just the neck, body, tremolo and pickguard. Put in fender 250K pots and a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat in the bridge with a jaguar bridge, and vintage style shaller tuners. That guitar sounds HUGE. It's his favorite "axe".
The ANONYMUS
So all I've worked out is it's probably a Shinei/Guyatone factory fuzz face copy. I would stll like to a photo of the tranny's if you could.
Can you take a photo of it's guts? In paticular the tranny's in it. I would think it's a Fuzz Face clone from the early 70's.
I'll try to get you some more info.
The Revelators are good.
Analoge is all right! Sometimes another browser helps with these things, as the problem you mentioned seems to have something to do with the settings of the Internet Explorer on your computer (...don't nail me to it). I have never seen the same thing happen, so sorrily I can't tell what should be changed so it will run. It might be a shot in the oven, but have you tried MOZILLA FIREFOX? It's one of the best alternatives to the Internet Explorer. It's free to download at their website and well approved. I hope it works and you can soon download those Podcast's! IDON Ps: If you have iTunes installed you can also subsribe over that. By going to the iTunes store and pasting "GaragePunk Podcast" in the searchfield. You will find the directory with all the shows there. That should always work.
well I was trying to have them downloaded in that manner however the browser kept coming up saying "Internet Explorer can't read page". I'm still living in an analogue age and this computer stuff is still kinda foreign to me, I'll give it another go hopefully it works. Thanks for your help.
You can either download them the traditional way on the blog (that's when you click "podcast" in the upper right in the menu of your page of the HIDEOUT. And then in the linkbar of every episode under "Download".) There's also a link to every recent show on the main HIDEOUT page. Or you can conveniently have 'em downloaded in an automatic way by subscribing thru something like iTunes or a feed. That's easy to reach at the same place under "Subscribe". Again you can choose one or all! Awesome thing this! All-right?
i was wondering if any tech wiz out there could help me figure out the process of downloading some of the GaragePunk Podcasts, I am rabid traveler and would love to have many of these episodes on my iPod for convenience and also so I can shake it while I make for the boarder. Any help is apprecieated.
