www.myspace.com/thehussyknowsall 3 7 inches are on the way. One Split 7 inch on Science of Sound Records with our friends Sleeping in the Aviary One on A Fistful of Records in the Netherlands - That's going to be a 6-8 song EP! Another Split 7 inch on Tax Return Records, with our friend Rocktopus. This is the first release on this label!
my old band did a couple of London gigs with a two-piece called the Hartes, they were fuckin intense, but I think they've split up now. either way, worth a listen: www.myspace.com/thehartes Joey Vacant The Crushers
Here's a couple of my current faves making the blues/punk kinda noise...both outta Toronto, both 2 piece bands... The Speaking Tongues http://www.myspace.com/thespeakingtongues catl http://www.myspace.com/catlmusic
Check out Edison Rocket Train. It's a creature of journalist/rocker Mike Edison, (who earlier this year released a hilarious spoken-word album called I Have Fun Everywhere I Go (featuring blues/punk/techno backgrounds produced by one Jon Spencer) If you're on eMusic, they've got ERT's Yes!Yes!!Yes!!!, which might be what yer looking for.
remember when bands like the white stripes and henry and june weren't pretentious assholes. what happened to doin captain beefheart and son house songs? i've been on a kick lately digging through 45's and lurkin on myspace trying to find any bands who still have almost dead feeling. send me a link if you can help. the closest i've come is an obscure portland band who claims detroit as one of their influences. they're called SAMO and they do oneof the best covers of a son house track that i've maybe ever heard (almost as good as death letter). the rest of their songs are a little strange, but still good in their own way. myspace.com/samo333
Freddie King - I Hear Jingle Bells
Surfaris - A Surfer's Christmas List (has chimes/bells at the end)
Slacktone - The Bells of St. Kahuna
Rock 'n' Roll Bells
can't think of the artist but it's on that Talkin' Trash/Lookey Dookey CD
1st one is the Johnny Otis Band with Mel Walker and Little Esther singing "Wedding Boogie" 22 - Wedding Boogie.mp3 2nd up is off "That'll Flat get It" Vol 20 The Dreamers doing "Ding Dong" no real bells though just a chorus of Ding Dong Do waddy waddy. 18- the dreamers - ding dong.mp3 Don't know how outside of rock n roll you wan to get, but here's one other. A guy called Fred Rich doing a song called "Wedding Bells". I know Gene Vincent did a version of this song, but I do not believe there bells in it. 09 - wedding bells - fred rich.mp3
Jingle Bells by The Monsters....it's on a Dionysus 7"
These are great and thanks to everyone for attaching MP3's! Super helpful as finding some of these songs aren't the easiest. Loved that last one from the Dominoes- The Bells. Very nice! I am really appreciating all your help. Keep em coming. Avoiding all X mas songs if possible!
Some more obvious x-mas type songs
yobs - Silver Bells
yobs - Another Christmas
and a 50's crying song
the Dominoes - 'The Bells'
I believe the Mummie's version of 'White Caps' has a buoy bell type sound at the begining.
Anything off the first Samhain LP
Betty Chung (of fucked up 'bang bang' cover fame) doin' 'bell a go go' . Even has ringing bells in the intro and 'ding dong, ding dong' in the chorus : ).
Ohhh thanks everyone! These are really helpful! keep em coming... I got 4 hours to fill! Listen in too!
Well, if you're a BAND, you upload your music there. If you're a podcaster, you register your show with 'em and then start digging for music. Like the real world, there's a ton of CRAP, but I've found some pretty good stuff on the PMN. For example, Thee Fine Lines use it. But no, you don't put your podcasts there (use www.blip.tv for that!). They're just sites to find music. Howie Pyro said:
i always wondered about these sites, but never really looked...is it a place to get music from? or to upload podcasts to? both?

Do any of you podcasters use either of these sites to search for "podsafe" music? IODA Promonet Podsafe Music Network I just joined the IODA Promonet and am currently awaiting approval. It looks VERY similar to the Podsafe Music Network (and serves the same purpose), which I've used quite a bit in the past. Just curious.
Found their album in the used bin. It's pretty good. Is there more?
