7. Light Bulb Alley....Liquor Store...this a a demo from the upcoming Fear No Evil CD, to be released on Ricochet Sound out of Montreal.

13. The Sinners....No Brains Required...from their only 7". One of the early punk/new wave combos from London. And on Saturday Dec 7th, is the book release party for Graphic Underground London: 1977-1990 at the APK. This is an afternoon free show, running from 2 to 7PM...copies of the brand new book will be available (it's at the printers as we speak) and it's a museum style book....over 200 pages, colour and monochrome pics throughout of the posters, zines, ephemera from London's musical past. It's a must for anyone into that era of London's musical past!  There'll also be a couple of video screens set up showing some of the many photos of London combos from 1977 -1990 as the scene was fairly well documented photographically. And there'll be a couple of DJ's, Lucky Pete Lamber and yours truly whatwave dave spinning only 7" records for your aural delights (or maybe not)...It's going to be a blast, so come on down for a little bit on your busy saturday afternoon. 4. Simply Saucer...The Story Of Simply Saucer...from a demo that Edgar Breau gave us last time we had him onair. Edgar suffered a heart attack about a week ago and is now on the mend

5. Stompin' Tom Connors...The Ketchup Song...from the Bud The Spud LP. This one goes out to the employees at the Heinz plant in Leamington Ontario that is closing down. Over 700 full time, 300 part timers and thousands more depend on this plant for income. Open for well over 100 years and one of the largest tomato processing plants in North America closed by big business decisions.

6. Pre-Historic Cavestrokers...Second Hand...mid 80's demo from this Windsor Ontario combo as we do a Windsor area band tribute to it's smaller neighbour, Leamington Ontario.

7. Weirdonia...Nymphochondriac...from the Freaks CD. We had this 2 piece combo for a live to air about 2 years ago and got stopped in the second song due to a university exam happening directly below our studios!

8.Lost Patrol...In Your Eyes...from their LP on Stop It Baby Records from France. Late 80's Windsor combo who played many many times here in London.This is the end of our Windsor set.

9. The Smugglers...Vancouver BC...from the In The Hall Of Fame CD. The Smugglers were a late 80's to end of 90's garagepop combo from Vancouver BC. Singer Grant Lawrence is now a published novelist and CBC personality. He'll be in town this tuesday at Landon Library to read from his latest book.

I always thought that the Ramones was an average forgettable pop punk band who wished they were a boy band

I think that Pack LP is in the top 5 best Punk albums of the 70's. Up there with the Ramones, Saints and Teenage Heads first album

It seems like most of the best before 1980 was EP's and Singles, save for Teenage Head, and the Forgotten Rebels.
If we're gonna go before '76 though, Simply Saucer- Cyborgs Revisted is the best Proto punk from Canada.

Thank you.  It seems like it MIGHT have been legally reissued , recently , tho' I doubt it. I asked Don Craine if he thought the two F.U.2 records would be re- released , and he said , it's doubtful. In true exploitation fashion , they were paid a flat fee to record the albums , and did 'nt own the rights. Of course , a few songs turned up on Sect releases.

"We piss anywhere , man.".

I had read about The Count Five in Jr. High (Middle School) and seen them , posed , in front of The Winchester Haunted House , with the insane exaggerated Brian Jones DO'S and Dracula capes . I loved Horror theatrics (Yes , I read about Lord Sutch around this time , too.) , and assumed maybe they were like a toned - down Alice Cooper or something.....But , being a wee small

 BAIRN , i COULD'NT AFFORD RECORDS , UNLESS THEY WERE USED LPS FOR 50 CENTS AT THE PAWN SHOP...  I saw a compilation , I think it was on Liberty (Of which Double - Shot WAS A SUBSIDARY ) , with "Psychotic Reaction" on it. I thought that was the trippiest name. I did'nt even know what it meant. But , I was'nt going to shell out half a dollar , out of curiosity ......But , I remember telling my Brother "Hey , I saw this old article about the original Punk Rock bands" ( 70's Punk was still happening at the time. The article was from your Story Of Pop.) He said , "Y'mean , like SLADE ?". I said , no , before them....I told him about the Count Five and their attire and everything , and he said , "That sounds IGNORANT AS HELL.".

It'd be a few years before I'd even hear "Psychotic Reaction" on the radio . Then , I realized , wow. This is a great song. I tried to imagine how it sounded to people , back then.

yEARS LATER , STILL , THERE WAS A GUY WITH A STALL AT THE FLEA MARKET i FREQUENTED . hE HAD ORIGINAL 50'S AND 60'S lpS , PLUS ALREADY - RARE REISSUES FROM EUROPE. I got "Psychotic Reaction" , the album ( On Line Records , in Germany).....for Christmas ! I know a lot of people don't like it , but , the album was remarkably consistent , considering they were'nt even old enough to buy beer , yet. A lot of their peers had two great songs , and FILLER. Their later singles were even better, I thought.

This flea market was so cool. One guy bought out the entire stock of a British record store , and opened a stall. Some of it was'nt so old. It was the first time I saw a Meteors record , which was only about 3 years old , then. Coolest thing was , they'd play the 'Girl Happy " soundtrack in the parking lot all the time. That's where I first heard "Do The Clam" !

Someone posted this note on a blog after finding it inside a used copy of Rocket To Russia.

It originally appears to be simply a funny letter that went along with a birthday gift.

But a few things I notice:
 It makes two mentions of "Superteem" in the letter....Darin Raffellis label in the mid 90's that also put out the first Donnas album and early 7'' singles.

At the bottom, it's signed "Allison R, July 26th, 1995". Could it be a birthday gift from Darin Raffelli to Donna A on her 16th birthday?

PRETTY FUCKING COOL! Although Donna A has some explaining to do!

I have never seen Mosquito! Sounds like a Mystery Science Theatre thing! Is it? Sounds cool!

I’ve never seen What About Me! Love that song though. He did it with his Chinese Dragons band right? I know he re-recorded another version of it too for his “hop around” album in 2000.

Joey Ramone made a little appearance in the Canadian movie “hard core logo” in 1996. Also, Dee Dee was in the AWFUL ON PURPOSE movie “Bikini Bandits” . He played the Pope. Haha.

Tyler , Now , THAT one I've never heard of. Johnny was a great fan of Sci-Fi , but, I got the feeling , after "Rock'n'Roll High School" , he'd given up on acting or appearing in movies , at all......I'm sure this "Stranded " would have been seen by even fewer people than the "Car 54" movie , at the time.

D'yer ever see "Mosquito" ? It's a movie about , yep, giant mosquitos descending upon a camping community. It stars Gunnar Hansen and Ron Asheton , with a cameo by Margaret Dollrod. The only other thing about it I can recommend is that the animation/SFX for the giant mosquitos is actually pretty good.

The only other movie appearance I can think of , by one of The Ramones , was Dee Dee in "What About Me"(With Johnny Thunders , Jerry Nolan , Judy Carne and Jeanette Neapolitano - is that her name?- from Concrete Blonde , also the director. Excepting the latter , they all have pretty small parts.).

Dee Dee's song "What About Me " does'nt appear in the film , just like his song "Love Kills" was deep - sixed for an unrelated , inferior song by the same name , by Joe Strummer , in "Sid and Nancy".

Sorry if this comes up twice. The Cramps were great fans of Bubblegum , too , when much of their audience would have been too old to remember it....

The first song they ever recorded , and , apparently , figured out at all , was "Quick Joey Small" by The Kasenetz- Katz Singing Orchestral Circus".

Lux Interior once said that he liked the early Talking Heads "When they sounded more like The 1910 Fruitgum Co.".
