    • I think it's safe to say most people don't only listen to one genre of music, and there's always gonna be a couple of records on yer shelf that don't fit in with the rest (for me it's those four fun lovin' criminals ablums sitting next to the sonics). All the same, arena rock is going a bit too far for me.

    • Some of us have been waiting for Chinese Democracy since 1985.

I have always hated musical genres, too.

    • Listen to exsisting Garage Punk and then rip it off. Much like Sara's comment really. It's a stable law throught the genre - if in doubt, rip it off!

    • In my humble opinion, the best thing to do is learn the 5-tone blues scale and listen to a lot of Billy Childish....

    • hi everybody

when i was younger i use to play (ok it's not the right term...) electric guitar in a hc punk band...just power chords in 3-chords-songs.

now friends give me a guitar just to play on my own...

i'm askin' if out there there's a manual or a method to play electric guitar in "our" way...rock guitar in a "garage punk" style...i don't want to loose any time in stupid and boring stuff...

      thanx

    • I thought X-Ray was pretty good. He's able to convey a feeling and mood that doesn't necessarily correlate with standard biographical facts.

    • One of my favorite Los Angeles pop psych singles is the Rumors' "Without Her" (Gemcor #50072, 7/65) which I encountered on one of Rhino Records' '80's Nuggets vinyl compilation LPs (appropriately subtitled "Pop"). The A-side, "Hold Me Now," turned up on Rhino's first Nuggets 4CD box, but I haven't been able to locate the hypnotic "Without Her." I would've pegged it as a likely candidate for inclusion on one of the countless psych compilation CDs out today; does anyone know where to find it?

    • I love getting a new podcast almost daily to listen to. And I especially love it when one of my favorite category has a new edition out (man I was in Heaven with that new Hot Slop).

But I have a few that I replay over and over again- just wondering if I'm not alone in this. Short list is South Bay Pork 1 and 2 and Brazilian Mob. Don't get me wrong, I have many, many titles shufflin through my MP3 player- but I think these are almost daily.

      Any favs out there?
