Yeah buddy!
One good thing about it is they have a "Early Influence" inductee section... Which would avoid arguments about whether Bo or Link are punk or not... Hallelujah!
Yeh hes really not in there... The Bee-Gees are however... And Bob Marley... I think if the RnR hall of fame is anything to go by we should really stop worrying about whether its garage punk or not and just put anything in... For the first inductee to the garage punk hall of fame I nominate abba...
How about a Hall Of Fame for clueless Hall Of Fames that would pass over someone like Link Wray?
I think Bo's already in the RnR hall of fame anyway... Can ye double induct people into halls? Maybe rather than a garage Punk hall of fame there should be a hall for musicians the other halls are to square to put in! Hasil adkins, nervous norvus... The Hall of who the fucks that guy! Actualy I think even link wray isn't in the RNR hall of fame... what an ommission!
this is fun! Gunther Toody said:

Uh, I'm getting a headache.
Everybody here has their own idea about what constitutes "garagepunk" and which bands represent that musical concept to them. Sometimes there seems to be too much emphasis on the "punk" aspect of "garagepunk".
Let the music do the talking.

At this point, I would have to say no...not to you. But to me, Bo Diddley is much more worthy (maybe in the "Founding Fathers" or "Huge Influence" section of the "Garagepunk Hall Of Fame") of inclusion than 99% of new bands that call themselves "garagepunk". Why don't you ask Billy Childish if Bo Diddley is garagepunk or Garagepunk Hall of Fame worthy? Garage Punk Hall Of Fame...gosh, I don't think it's real...I think this is a hypothetical question. Maybe people's responses are dictated by the year they were born and their personal experiences.
but is it punk??? Gunther Toody said:
How many Bo Diddley songs (or songs in Bo Diddley style) have you heard by the other (semantically non-challenged) garage bands on the list?
Jeez, just Billy Childish alone...
I heard something about this the other day. I was under the impression that the recordings were from a radio show, just live stuff. New, nonetheless. And don't hold me to that. I could totally be wrong. What I heard, though.
I just found out about these newly unearthed Hank Williams recordings and I'm thinking of putting em on my christmas list... Anybody know what the hell I'm talking about? I know it ain't very garage related but must be some Hank fans on here...
