Just 2 batteries... the circuit inside is really simple. It has 2 germanium transisters. The Fuzz wont kick in unless you hit the strings quite hard. It is very weird but really sounds like the real deal. I don't use it live as it is so unpredictable. I'm quite keen to try one of those Boss Maestro emulators.... anyone tried one of those? For my Bass rig I'm running a EH Bass Big Muff. More usable then other Muff's, great on guitar and not just your average Muff because of the three way switch that switches between the modes.
On guitar I use a Fuzz Face clone that I made using high gain Germanium AC128's. I usually boost this with a tube Screamer type pedal for lead work/noise/feedback.

I've seen similar guitars with different brands on headstock. I think they were made in the Teisco factory but don't quote me on that. A lot of the different brands from that period used the same factory. I've never heard of the Domino brand but there are so many different ones that it's hard to keep track!
Those pickups are really cool, they can be quite microphonic, great for feedback solos!

Former Mothers of Invention drummer and "Indian of the Group" Jimmy Carl Black died of leukemia in Germany on Nov. 1. I knew him when he lived in New Mexico back in the '80s. He drummed on one of my songs back in '81. They were a pretty cool band and they opened for the Pistols when they played the Longhorn Ballroom during their infamous US tour.

From the Nathaniel Mayer's myspace page: R.I.P. Nathaniel Mayer 1944-2008 It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our dear friend Nathaniel Mayer. After many months of complications and illnesses following a series of strokes, Nathaniel left us November 1, 2008. He will always be in our hearts. As soon as funeral arrangements have been made we will post the information here. I had the great pleasure to enjoy his awesome gig at the Funtastic Dracula Carnival in Valencia, Spain, in 2005. I met him also during the weekend and he was a great, fun guy. He partied along as anyone else from the crowd. He'll be sadly missed. Love and affection (not the house of correction!)

Yes. The shows get recorded, then aired~ we listen, dance, enjoy and preserve the better ones. Any music "suggestions" I'd have aren't likely to fit in a GaragePunk box. But- back to the question, this comment doesn't matter much.

From Japan, the Surf Coasters (guitarist can do Dick Dale like nobody's business) and the Whys (love the grass skirts).
From South of the Border, Sr. Bikini and Los Elaticos. (Side note: What's with South American Surf bands and Luchadore masks? Is there a reason? Am I missing a cultural connection?)
From the US: the Sir Finks, Satan's Pilgrims and the Volcanos.
