No. In fact, I really hate that shit.
You know, I can enjoy the occasional spin of a Motley Crue or Van Halen record as part of a High School flashback. The extended squeaky guitar solos can be kinda miserable, but most of it is solid pop. The stuff I can't stand is the Metallica type stuff. Fuckin' death dirge after death dirge.

    • I just never understood the appeal of GnR (Axl Rose is a fucking asshole, anyway), Poison, or most of those '80s/'90s hard rock or hair metal bands... there were always just way too cheesy for me to take seriously. About as close to "hard rock" as I get is AC/DC, and that's strictly the early, Bon Scott-era stuff. There are a few other '70s "classic rock" bands that I can tolerate, too, like Cheap Trick, Thin Lizzy, etc., but I don't know if that'd be classified as "hard rock" or not. Generally, though, I heard enough of '70s arena rock while I was growing up to last a lifetime.

    • Ok I could be totally insane but that "it's so easy" song by the Guns 'n' Roses kicks my ass...oh and also "talk dirty to me" by Poison...

      No crazy-like-me here???

    • I'm new to the Hideout, but have been listening to many podcasts since my lovely wife bought me an iPod this year. And I sincerely think that GaragePunk is the most awesome collection of podcasts around! If anyone wants to reply, that's fine. But I just needed to throw that out there to show my appreciation.

In my opinion it would be great to have reviews here...not only about today's stuff, but also about not-so-much-known great stuff from the past (long and short time)...the reviewers' group could be composed by garagepunk podcasters plus some other "we-know-you-know-what-you're-talkin'-about" people...

it could be useful to have a "file under" section (for example: if the hellacopters are your favorite band, what you have to listen to...), and a sort of best records profile of each reviewer, to know his/her musical taste...

it could be also useful to have different taste reviewers to write about the same record...

(ok maybe today i worked to hard, and it's to late...must go to bed)
I hadn't thought much about people reviewing older releases, but yeah, why the hell not. Glad to see there's at least some interest in this.
