    • If enough people are interested, (and if there's a slot available...) i'd like to do an instrumental podcast on a regular basis. I know we have the occasional Surfcast already, but i'd like to do a regular show featuring nothing but instro, and most Rock n Roll styles from the 50s up until now - so i'd be featuring some surf but more....

To give you an idea i would be featuring people like Link Wray, Lonnie Mack, Duane Eddy, The Ventures, The Shadows, the Spotnicks, bands from comps like Planetary Pebbles (Surfbeat Behind the Iron Curtain), the 60s / surf era right up to bands like Los Straitjackets, Laika and the Cosmonauts and current.

If you are interested in hearing such a podcast, reply to this post and if i get enough interest I will put together a "pilot" podcast and submit it to the powers that be..

      Regards

      Fuzzmeister

Hi Gringo I got the email! Thanks so much for going out of your way. I sent the Vox guy a friend request, and will send him a proper message once he approves. Kind regards Chris

That's a tough one. It might be worth checking with Jack Charles at Phantom guitar works in case you haven't already. Good luck. Post back if you locate them!

Thanks Michael. I thnk I spoke to Jack about this before, and had no joy. There must be someone somewhere in the world that knows how these effects work, and how to repair them. I just gotta find that person! I put a notice on my homepage with tons of keywords, so hopefully I should get some good search engine hits, and someone in the know will find me. I'll let you know if I have any luck. Fingers and toes crossed...

    • HEEEELLLLLP! I have a real Vox problem.

I'm looking for schematics of the ACTUAL effects modules of the Starstream, and Grand Prix guitars (not the regular guitar wiring diagram). Do you think anyone actually made their own schematics? Apparently Vox didn't make schematics for the modules themselves, as they were just to be entirely replaced in the case anything went wrong.
Alternatively if anyone knows the individual V number for each individual effect, it would be very helpful!
      Kind Regards
      Chris Jack

    • Well, I do -- sort of

the Inclusions were from Minneapolis, and as far as I know only released the one self-released 7 inch with Un-American Activity and a song called Russian Youth on the B-side. It's a pretty uncelebrated record, and I don't know how rare exactly, but pretty damn rare.

    • Does anyone have info on the Inclusions from Killed by Porn #41 (?)?

    • Open discussion time: How do you actually "promote" your blog? Or, do you "promote" your blog? Or... Do you wait around like a crocodile with yer mouth open hoping something walks in? Discuss.

    • Sorry, I need to check this forum more often. Somehow missed this. The "notes" area is a place where we can add HTML pages... like an "About the Hideout" page, a FAQ page, a contact page, community guidelines, articles, recipes, a page of external links, etc. You can do a lot with it, I just haven't yet... mainly because of a lack of free time, and the fact that we already have a lot of informational stuff available on the GaragePunk.com blog. But if any of you have an idea of some notes we can add, please feel free to suggest them here or shoot me a DM.

    • I'd also recommend the first 2 records. Both have been reissued on LP and shouldn't be too expensive. They also feature guitarist Cliff Galup who's often credited for being one of the best rockabilly guitarists in history. I think he left the group before they recorded their second record, but came back to play on it.

    • I've got a Guyatone TZ-2 The Fuzz and an Fuzzbrite by Ashbass (Mosrite Fuzzrite® clone). Both can get down right nasty but I kind of dig the Guyatone a little better for all around fuzzed out frenzies.

I have found that the Fuzzbrite has a pretty short decay when played with my set-up for surf Jazzmaster w/13 flatwounds through a '68 Bassman. I think some people desire that, but I dig my fuzz with a little more sustain and the Guyatone dials that in nicely. I've also got a Russian Pi Big Muff which offers up a real nice buzz saw sound as well, albeit a little more on the distortion side of the coin. After reading the replies on here, I really want to try a Rat but you know how the pedal thing goes...they seem to be quite addictive and I already have more than I can use right now!! I did see Davie Allan live last year absolutely killing it and he was using an old Rat and a modded out Jazzmaster.
