Classick!! That look will NEVER die as far as I'm concerned. Well done lads well done!

Isn't rock and roll and especially garage/punk rock all about "posing?" Isn't it more about standing in front of the mirror with a tennis racket for a guitar and deciding to be a rock star as opposed to sitting at the end of your bed practicing scales? Wasn't that whole British invasion thing as much about the look as it was the sound? Isn't choosing not to wear stage gear a contrived "image?" It’s all been done. Image. Anti-image. I’ll take the image please. Trust me. In a noisy club with crappy sound, your music doesn’t do the talking for you like you think.
After all, do we do this to blend in or do we do this to stand out? Being tatted up with a Mohawk is every bit as mainstream now as Pat Boone was in 1959. My band Thee Mighty Shake Spears played the punk rock club the other night. All the tribes were present. All the countercultures represented. We walked in to the place in drainpipe trousers and Chelsea boots with coats and skinny ties and people were like what the…? We were every bit as confrontational dressed that way in that environment as the punks were in 1977 London. I’d rather walk in the room and have somebody say that dude is in the band as opposed to having them wonder whether or not I’m just there tuning the guitar for the actual band.
HA! nope Not my up of tea. I;m not against theatre in Rock N Roll, after all I was a huge Alice Cooper fan when I was in High Schhol, IT's just the Matching outfit thing that makes me want to run away screaming POSUER!!!

i try to get us in kaleidoskull to dress the same, but all we can pull off is matching cigarette burns, beer stains and puke spots
Cool: motorcycle jackets, jean jackets (bonus: sleeves cut off), studs, buttons, burger t-shirts, garbage bags as clothing, animal masks, hair bows, raccoon hats, pizza, bandannas, aprons, German motorcycle helmets, 1970s Joan Jett hair, stripes, knives, bow ties, Mad magazine, Ramones, spandex, tennis shoes, fat girls, Flying V, greaser.
Uncool: paisley, ruffled shirts, bell bottoms, wallet chains, neckerchiefs, mailman, velvet, guns, matching suits, hippie, tambourines, brown hair, rockabilly, turtle necks, goatees, space suits, brown vests, wrestling masks, CBGB t-shirts, polka dots, cocktails, Beatle boots, Beatle hair, scarfs, spy theme, fat guys, Vox guitars, 1980s version of the 1960s
We have multiple matching outfits: Gold dresses, sparkly blue dresses, black dresses, a stripes theme. We get to pretend we're 5 year old quadruplets and shop for matching outfits. It rules.
Bands that have a look ALWAYS get my thumbs up even if they stink "musically". XD My old band The Reverbians was a perfect example. Not the greatest musically but we wore the masks & matching stripe shirts. It was dumb & didn't have anything to do with the "theme" of the band, but that was exactly what we were going for. Wanted people to walk in a bar where we were playin' & go...what the fuck?!....I gotta see this shit!".
We gots the animal house frat rock suit thing I guess. Not necessarily a "uniform" but like ya sez, you're putting on a show dammit! I can't stand when I go see a band that's supposed to be in this genre & they just get up there in whatever they wore that day...lame.
We all wear wrestling masks, so that's kind of like a theme.
Formal/Pseudo Formal wear usually does the trick. Ideally, you're rockin so hard the shirts have to come off.
Right there with you these days - black pants, red shirt, black tie. Sometimes when we are really feeling crazy we'll go black shirt, red tie.
White shirt, black pants and black tie... Classic and inexpensive !
My Fave bands that dress up or used to back when they were gigging: Los Straitjackets, Thee Headcoats, Man or Astro Man, Nero and the Gladiators, Kraftwerk, Paul Revere and the Raiders, The Monks, The Ramones (best t-shirts and jeans act), The Spotnicks, Devo, Sounds Incorporated, The Wombles, Bay City Rollers!!
Oh come on John! I likes me some theater!!!!

We all dress like matching genitals.
Does that count?
Our theme for "Northside Garage" is Garage - work shirts with names and hats. The upside is I never have to think about what to wear. Guess that's a little lazy too ;)
Mask and capes are MANDATORY over here and the occasional denim vest.
