I KNOW. AT LEAST , UNLIKE MR. VAN WINKLE , ROKY WAS'NT EMBARRASSED ABOUT BEING FROM TEXAS. I ran into Greg Synodis from the legendary (Because I say so.) Heavy Psych / Garage band , Lithium Xmas , and congratulated him on directing the then - recent Vanilla Ice videos , even tho' I can't stand the man. A friend of mine went to High School with Rob Van Winkle , said he wore Izod shirts every day.

This is the first time I've heard any Oh Sees, and I've gotta admit it's not too shabby, kinda spacey and headbangin' , like that Butthole Surfers video 'Who Was In My Room Last Night'.

thee oh sees are the band number one these days if we are talking about originality and pure and pure rock n roll spirit. maybe their last record isn't great (havent check it) but they release like 2-3 albums per year. so beat that haters

But , I've heard "96 Tears" and "The People in Me " by The Music Machine sampled on ultra - hipster  Rap , Hip Hop, or some other kind of instrument - free "underground" garbage. I have to hear that all the time in the "Cutting edge" record stores , when I get more than enough of it on the street or on the train . What is cutting edge about a multi - billion dollar industry?

I liked about half the songs on the latest Oh Sees album. They are great live. Not sure what Kanye will do with them, but it probably won't be permanently damaging.
