Ok we love the music - but what about those rides we all sing about. Which is the ultimate Garage Punk ride? My choice 59' De Ville: Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

this is my impala, which frequently is used to carry band equipment/members/show go-ers, as well as being my daily driver. it is equipped with an 8 track player to play (and usually burn up) as many 8 track cassettes as will fit in my glove box.

Hey- I had a 64' t-bird for a while, similar to the one on page one-but hard top. Finest ride EVER, til it died (meaning needed more repairs than my college student ass could afford). So I sold it, cried, and moved on.

Incredible ride tho, had a 390 in it that, when hit just right, would take off like a hydrofoil. and it FLOATED. when you drove. Maroon paint with black leather interior, still miss it, but still couldn't afford to fix it up, so, as they say, I like to think its in a better place.

Cheers for the heads up on the Escapades photo (I knew I'd have got that one wrong)I assume that's a Mummies ambulance pic you have there (I'm having probs viewing some of these pics for some reason).

So far it looks like the hearse/ambulance is the thing for a real garage band, so I'm sticking with the '59 Coupe De Ville hearse as above.

Anyone else got any great ideas?

I'll take one in each color ! Oh, and that's a '58 Pontiac hearse or perhaps ambulance in that Escapades photo. Does anyone know what became of the Mummie's ambulance? Last time I saw it, John from Sympathy For The Record Industry owned it, but that was many years ago.

My dad said every body he knew (his age) in the mid to late sixties had cars and trucks from the fifties and only a few teens had them so if you had one you were extra cool because of the ride, otherwise everybody had to borrow their dads car... Photobucket Cool topic! -Earl

Not sure but that pic looks like it's a Caddy or an Edsel hearse (maybe completly wrong with that one). Great choice. That's a real cool Garage Punk ride!
