Too bad they aren't touring with a complete lineup for both bands. That would make some people really happy. Not a huge fan, but I'd like to see the Stranglers. Press release From The Jam: Bruce Foxton & Rick Buckler 2008 North American Tour Dates From The Jam: Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, two thirds of the original line-up of The Jam, embarked on a major 23-date UK tour in November and December 2007. The autumn tour followed hot on the heels of the band's sold-out 20-date UK tour during May of the same year. During 2007, the band played to over 60,000 people in the UK. The overall reaction from the fans has been phenomenal. The band recently announced a major North American tour which begins on 24th January 2008 at the House of Blues in San Diego, California. The 14-date tour takes in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Anaheim, Chicago, to name but a few. Special guest on all North American dates is Hugh Cornwell, formerly the original singer and guitarist of The Stranglers. I thought the Paul Weller forum was pulled due the constant porn spam that was being posted. It was also pretty much unmoderated, the record company or anyone connected to PW didn't seem to give much of a shit about the site, as most of it hadn't been updated in ages.

The problem people had on the Paul Weller forum had more to do with the constant spamming by the From The Jam "street team" rather than the bands name. It started to piss at lot of people off when every other thread you opened was about a Jam tribute act. Mind you it did make me laugh when the From The Jam moderator started slagging off Weller as "he split up our band". This same person now has a photo of her & Weller on her MySpace. Double standards or standards rule ok? In the end I'm not surprised that the plug got pulled on the Paul Weller forum.

He hasn't aged into pompous ass, he was always a miserably bitter and arrogant person. I think the Gallagher brothers modelled themselves on him, lol !

I don't like Weller's solo music and I even found the Jam weak, but I have a great fondness for the Style Council (the only band of his that Weller disowns today ... sigh ...).

I saw From The Jam in Galway. I went with a sceptical mind but ended up really enjoying the gig. If you go for the nostalgia value and are into The Jam, then you'll have a good time. Just don't take it too seriously (as most people did on The Paul Weller forum when the bands name was announced).
I agree with Lost soul reagrding Weller, never met the man so don't know what he is like as a person but his solo music is boring MOR shite.

If you think that those prices are bad I had to pay £36 for 2 tickets + a £10.50 booking fee. £46.50 for 2 tickets!!! The tour that the band did in the UK during December the ticket prices were even higher. But if the band are charging £10,000 per gig the venue has to get their money for somewhere.

I'd always heard that Paul Weller was a right miserable git. However, I met him the other year at The Boss Sounds Ska & Reggae festival and have to say that he didn't come across that way. In between skanking to Prince Buster & Jimmy Cliff, Paul Weller had time to chat to his fans and to pose for photographs. He even asked me where I got my shoes from but I didn't tell him. He seemed in really good spirits but I don't know if this was due to all the stella he had drank :-/

At least it's the best 2 thirds. Paul Weller has aged into a pompous arse.

There playing down in Australia very soon. Jam without Weller, can't see it being to good. I missed them in the day when i was a nipper in London. Don't think I'm gonna worry about that. Gonna watch the complete Jam DVDs instead,

I saw From the Jam last year. They are ok for a tribute band I suppose. But at the gig I was at at The Crypt in Middlesbrough Bruce Foxton's bass was far too loud and over powered the guitar. The gig was packed out though unlike when the band played there a few months before without Foxton under the name The Gift. That night only 74 people turned up to see the band in a venue that holds around 600.

One of my mates tried to book From The Jam for a gig but was quoted £10,000! Which for a tribute band is taking the piss a bit.
