      It's about that time for the Annual Best of... Lists. 

       

      My Top 5 Garage/Punk LPs of 2013:

       

      The Future Primitives (South Africa):  Into the Primitive

      Wyldlife (NYC):  The Time Has Come to Rock & Roll

      The Oblivians (you know):  Desperation

      The Bamboo Kids (NYC):  Safe City Blues

      and from Austin, TX, the incredible A Giant Dog:  Bone. 

       

      A few honorable mentions that very nearly made my list:  Guitar Wolf, The Go, Black Joe Lewis (Electric Slave could fairly be called garage punk), Hanni El Khatib (ditto), and I haven't heard the new Bad Sports album yet, but I'm sure it's great.  Hope I didn't miss anything...
