It was hard to watch Amy Adams' character in this movie and NOT think about Poison Ivy... Am I right or am I right?

....I see what you mean , but , I'd really have to see the movie.   Of course , she has the hair , and similar facial structure , but , Ivy , ever the fitness enthusiast , isn't as muscular looking as Adams in this photo.  If you ever see the updated remake of "Destroy All Monsters", "Godzilla:Final Wars " , the leader of the evil spacemen looks like a cross between Lux and Seiji from Guitar Wolf.  Seriously.

Why remake one of the best Godzilla films of all?

I never even thought of the resemblance to Poison Ivy before. Well, The Cramps were into Godzilla movies, so it should be no surprise that Toho Films pay tribute to The Cramps in the Destroy All Monsters remake.

....it's not exactly a remake , more of a redux. The idea of bringing in even MORE classic Toho monsters , some just doing very short cameos , as in the original. I still have a hard time figuring out where some of themare ,in teh original. The resemblence to Lux and Seiji to the space villain may be , in part , coincidental. It's a fun picture , tho' , better than some of the new ones I've seen.

I'm very heavily into Japanese , Hong Kong and Korean cinema, but wouldn't it be better to write a new Godzilla film?

I agree , but , the current Godzilla movie is a new storyline , not based on previous movies. The sequel is'nt supposed to have anything to do with past storylines , either , except , hopefully , Godzilla will open a tallboy can of whoopass on Ghidorah , Rodan , or another old fave , instead of the practically formless insect things he faced off with in the current one. 

......But ,  we're getting way far away from the original topic. I do think it's extremely likely Amy Adams' look , here , may well have been based on Poison Ivy.
