Gave him "Black Monk Time" to play in his car while running errands. He LOVED it. He loves early Kinks, Beatles, etc but had NEVER listened to the Monks. He really loved their "dark and sometimes scary" take on 60s pop. He's still got the cd in his car today and just keeps going through the album again and again. The pupil becomes teacher haha. You know, the monks were one of those bands , like The Sonics , that I'd heard of for years before actually hearing....When I did, I WAS AN INSTANT FAN.....THE MONKSCOULD HAVE WON FANS on their concept alone , but , the music was even further ahead of teh pack. It could have come out in The 80's , that's not a put down. It was'nt until Pere Ubu , Devo , etc. , anyone came close......
